• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just tore it down this afternoon to start fixin' it up, probably get things re-chromed and powdercoat the frame.

It's not a Husky, but it's what I learned to ride on ~15 years ago :D

I recently sold my Hodaka ACE 100. I learned to ride on my Dad's 1966 Hodaka Ace 90. I'm sort of regretting selling the ACE 100, although it sat in my garage rotting away.

Great project......

I remember my dad having one of those bikes when I was young. I'm just not sure of the year he had it..... That was another of the many bikes he had over the years..

I bought a 70' Ace 100B basket case with paper route money in 1976. When I turned 15 1/2 I got my learners permit and was GONE (until sundown). That bike ran circles around my buddies SL's.

I had a 1970 Ace 100 B in 1972 when I was 12. My first real motorcycle after 2 step thru 50s with leg skirts removed

I bought this bike for my son when he was 10 years old. He was getting to big for his Kawasaki 80 mini.
I paid $50.00 for it with a stuck motor. Went through the motor and put new tires on it for him.
He rode it for a few years and then graduated to modern KTM 125, when he was 13.
The little Hodaka sat in my shed about 10 years until I pulled it out to race 100cc motocross myself.
Also took it to Tulsa in 2008 for the ISDT-Reunion ride.
I put bigger wheels 18" & 21" (it had 17" & 19"), 250 forks, lengthened swing arm and W/P shocks.
It's a hoot to ride, but tires you out pretty quick (still have it).

when day breaks ill get a couple of photos of mine and a couple of the old mans. His is the quickest 125 in a straight line in wa vmx club.

That's a great looking bike Ron...... I guess after riding the modern stuff, it must be tough riding a bike with suspension from the 70's......:oldman:

Go to Hodaka-Parts.com and get you some fork seals :D
Oh, don't worry. The forks have been torn down, the lowers stripped of their chrome and then powder coated. New seals and wipers have been installed. The uppers have been tossed in a corner and Frank's is building new ones with good chrome.

If I had the money, that's what I would be doing with the Combat Wombat, but I'll settle for new seals and bushings for now. The chrome isn't terrible, it'll be a 20ft bike, haha...

The chrome on this one is terrible. There would be no point to putting in new seals and wipers to just have them suck dirt and get torn up by all the pits and missing chrome of the original fork tubes.

Allright! Knock it off you guys! You're making me have horrible remorse for selling my ACE 100 a few months ago... :(
