Pasted from Facebook. Well as some of you may of heard, I was selling my ktm. Well I took it to an address of 708 glen allen drive, Baltimore Maryland to meet a guy. This was supposedly his address, his so called name was John smith, and the people who are registered to the address were also smiths. Well that was a cover up name for him and he had this planned out and he didn't live there like he said as I later found out. I got there, unloaded the bike for him, I started it up, went over everything, and I answered his questions. No he was not gonna ride it and I told him he was not until he put the wad of cash he had on the tail gate, but he sat on it while I had it idling, I was watching and standing by the bike the whole time. A car went to pull into his so called driveway which I thought was his dad and when I turned around to ask if I needed to move my truck which was partly the entrance to the drive way, I heard the chain snap as he dropped the bike into gear and he was off, down the street WFO before I had any time to react. I looked at the guy pulling in and asked if that was his son, nope sure wasn't. The guy that lives at this address was super nice and a preacher and he felt really bad about the whole thing. I have never felt so helpless watching my bike rip down the street knowing I'll never see that one again. I know as you read this you think to yourself how could I let this happen, you coulda done this, coulda done that, but I was crossing my t's, dotting my I's and for one split second my attention was taken away and it was gone. Trust me I have had a lot of different gut feelings from other situations, wrecking a bike, what ever but nothing will ever compare to how helpless I felt standing there as it went down the street. It's a SX250 If you see any where abouts of this bike contact https://www.facebook.com/ryan.edgar.31 and call the cops
Man major drag! Hard to believe such scum still exist. I guess you'll just need to call the police and your insurance to make a claim and move on. You did have it insured right? A motorsports policy is really cheap but well worth it. Sorry to hear the news.
He called right away and luckily he had insurance coverage for the bike. This made me think twice now and I should look into that too for my bikes as well, hopefully ICBC allows perks for offroad motorized vehicles than just ''registered'' under your name.
