I am super stoked! Just picked up a leftover '13 wr144 with a dealer installed lectron.

What are the important hop ups?

Tips on tuning lectron? (Running really rich)

How should I break the motor in?

Thanks this forum was pivotal in my decision, almost went with a 310 but came back to the 144 with the recommendations of this board

Go to the lectron website and download the tuning guide. Has all you need to know to set it up to the best tune.

Love the fact the reed block is on the cases and not the cylinder!

yes very easy to tune. its smoking, but does it run well? i would not base my carb tuning on how it smokes. check out the lectron site and it you have questions we can help. you should be somewhere around 40:1, maybe 32:1 if raced. when jetted correctly i have had no smoke or spooge problems with 40:1.

Thanks, I will try to figure it out tomorrow.
It runs fine but I have excessive smoke and Spooge at high rpm?

When the idle screw is 1 1/2 per motosportz thread it idles super high.

I'm sure I just new to get it adjusted properly.

Basically you adjust the Lectron from idle all the way through 7/8 throttle by lengthening=leaner or shortening=richer the needle. Once you have that done you adjust the wide open/last 1/8 by turning the power-jet clockwise=leaner or counterclockwise=richer. Set the idle where you want it and you're done... altitude has very little effect on it. If I'm going to ride in the sand all day especially on a cold day with good air I will turn the power-jet screw out 1/4 turn to make it a tad rich so it's easier on the engine when you're pinning it all day.

The lectron webside will explain how to turn the needle and then re-index it so the the flat side is facing the engine.

I don't know, lectron was installed by dealer when I bought it.

I can see the carb doing it unless it's injecting way to much feul at high rpm wich is the only time its spits the grey

Could it be un burned fuel??

Pretty much spot on. All I can add is don't forget to play with the external powerjet as it has more overlap than you might think on some bikes.

the hole for the powerjet is halfway up the carb body, so i thought the powerjet is operational over 50 percent throttle.

Thats the choke hole the powerjet hangs down into the top 3rd of the opening.
    Or am i again confuddled.

it depends on which nozzle is installed. mine hangs down right at halfway. i have seen some that the nozzle only hangs down a third. im guessing this is how you tune when you want to powerjet to work. my manual states the purpose of the powerjet is to"fine tune mid to high throttle positions"

edit: i see lectron offers two different nozzle lengths. one must be half like mine and the other upper third like you have. i need to try the shorter one

That explains it, what benefit would shorter powerjet be? Opens up at higher throttle opening

Do you guys have a recomendation for what plug and gap to use for the 144 with lectron? Even after leaning out the PJ I still seem to have to much unburned fuel

    Thanks

i guess it wouuld depend if you want the powerjet to work in the top half of throttle, or just the top third.
