Hummm... need to look into what ur talkin bout with them there chargers. Have not put a charger on it yet and will do my research. - Cant tell if my BatteryTender brand tender is "desulphators" or not.
I called CTEK and got one of their engineers on the phone in about 2 mins GREAT company. Bottom line, he was not trying to "sell: me a new charger...but he said NOT to use any of their auto chargers except for the "Lithium 56926" on any LIFPO4. They have had problems with the autos detecting covered plates and sending a series of cleansing pulses in the 40 volt range. I like the CTEKs so much, I may go ahead and get the "Lithium 56926" in addition to either the EarthX or the Shorai. I am a huge believer that the CTEKs will double the useful life (if not more). I expect the same out of the lithium setup, so in essence you end up saving.
I'd save your money and buy a $15 Schumacher. The Shorai requires their special charger they sell. I have one of their batteries in my KTM and sometimes it won't even start the bike, I have to kick start it. I'm so unimpressed by Shorai. The special electronics in the CTEK are already inside the Earthx battery along the top. It decides which cell needs more charging to equalize them and keep them at 80%. So all you need is a no-frills basic battery charger for winter storage. Most bikes will keep the earthx topped off with only 5 minutes of run time.
I think we've been through this before, but the Shorai doesn't require a special charger. A non-desulfation mode charger can be used, although Shorai claims their charger does more (diagnostics, cell balancing, etc). However, Shorai is unreliable, in my experience, and their warranty is next to useless. Two year warranty, but just after a year, it would've cost me >$100 to replace my battery that no longer worked. It now looks awesome sitting on my shelf.
Alirgiht alright...EarthX it is. Now if I could only send a message to my wife that what I REALLY want for Valentine's Day is a new lithium battery...
We run the same Earthx batteries in our 2014 FC450/FE501 race bikes because they are the best/reliable batteries we can get.

For those on the fence - I did a quick review of my new EarthX (thanks ZipTy) as my wife had about 30 girls in the house and I needed to hide in the garage: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/earthx-install-and-review.40135/
