Just to be clear, I never daid or meant they are LEGALLY obligated to make good. But that they SHOULD, if it is as the OP described.. lead on for months about a purchase, has a VIN, and some story about failed oil pump during prep, and reg. Rep says that bike doesnt exist??!! All that shows someone TOTALLY trying to pull a fast one.. complete DECEPTION. If a dealer did that to me, Id being doing EVERYTHING to blast them and hurt them in the pocket after all that... IF it is as the OP explained...
I disagree with this in this particular case. ronoconn was offered a bike that didn't exist. If the dealer is shady enough to do that, I have a feeling he would have never seen his deposit again.
Just a few updates to my situation. The dealer in question here is Central Jersey Cycles in New Egypt, NJ. I dealt exclusively with Bob. Previous to my experience with them I had heard nothing but great reviews of this dealer. I was contacted via email by a guy named Ryan in response to the form I filled out on the Husky website. He was apologetic for the situation and said he would forward my info on. Another member of Café Husky has contacted me stating that he had a similar situation with Bob at Central Jersey. Made a deal for a TE630, after a bit Bob states the bike has engine problems. After completing a warranty replacement of the engine (6 weeks) the bike was shipped off. When the bike arrived it was missing some parts, took several weeks to get the parts shipped. This all happened about the same time I made my deal with Central Jersey. I spoke with Fred (Husky East Regional Manager) a couple more times. He has spoken with Bob, who paints an almost completely different story than I do. Fred took many opportunities to separate Husqvarna as a company from the single Husqvarna dealer. He told me he thinks that Bob oversold his inventory of TE630s thinking he would source one from another dealer, but was unable to find one that met the price he had quoted me. All’s Well That Ends Well I guess? I ended up with a 690R that I am really enjoying. I have been able to sell off almost all my TE parts already. My hope is that Fred, Ryan, and Husky in general do some checking into what is going on over at Central Jersey.
Wow.. Thanks for the update.. If that's the case and Bob is being that slimy, I hope he gets nailed to the wall eventually.. What a waste of customers time and resources because of his greed.
Thanks, ronoconn! Based on your statements, I will be taking my TE630 to Fast by Ferracci for tuning. Hope the 690R works out well for you. From the one ride I had on a 690 motard, it seemed like a very smooth single.
I bought some of his parts at what I thought was a fair price. Hoping that takes some of the sting out of the raw deal. Thanks ronoconn!
Sorry to hear of a slimy dealer. I hope he gets a slapping too. My halls experiance was absolutely awesome, they went all the way with me for my SM610.
Ron, I am only dissappointed in the fact you did not buy a Safari tank! I really need a deal on one! Congrats on the 690 purchase, I am sure it will do well for you.
It always amazes me, in this day and age with instant communication and the internet, how some businesses think they can get away with shady dealings and not be called out eventually.
Good luck with the KTM,but what a sad story with your Husky Dealer. When I started working in the mid 70's my Boss told me one Pissed Off customer will do more harm to a business than a hundred happy customer's will do it good. It's a rule that has served me well for 27 years of having my own business's even if it cost me once in a while. Keep'm Happy!!
