That 450 ain't so bad .... Maybe that red frame makes it fast! He's also running the Marzocchi forks ... With the Husqvarna SM450RR Uros Nastran of the Team Zupin has won the European supermoto championship The Slovenian rider won the championship with a wide margin towards his direct pursuer Fabrizio Bartolini, also riding a Husqvarna bike.
Its the UEM Open Class Supermoto Championship. http://www.uem-moto.eu/Sports/Super...onship/Overallstanding/tabid/462/Default.aspx It looks like another cool Italian brand TM with pilot T Chareyre has won the FIM S1 World championship. With CH racing Husky's in close podium order. http://www.fim-live.com/en/sport/supermoto/news/
met Chareyre i think it was, and the the others, at the husky tent at 06 duel at the docks when it was just down the street from me. super nice doods. didnt speak much english but we pointed at each others "h" logos on our jerseys and nodded and thumbs up'ed. super talented riders and they put on one hell of a show. i wish that race would come back to long beach. it was insane and just 10 mins from my house. if it does well have a husky convergance/party at the moto-pad. all are welcome. someone call troy lee and bug him to make it happen again!, it was off the hook!!! EDIT- we can also do shindig for the X-games too....10 mins from the pad but the prices to get in the home depot center are kinds steep.
you can still see some of those AMA Sumo Husky machines at GP Motos SD, Adam Cini/Xavi Bellerophons 250 is for sale in the used section and a Chareyre (A or Ts?) 450 is present as well. the only sumo i saw live was the del mar one which blew my mind too, just how fast those top riders were going and that they let us line the wall like a friggan MX race it was crazy but super cool. I taught the kids never to take your eyes off the course when you are that close and be ready to hit the deck, thats how intense it was.Plus the open pits were great to talk with all the team players and be up close and personal.
yup- got my TC at GP. seen those, wished i had the dough. cheap race bikes set up and ready to rip. someone did go into the crowd at 06 duel. forgot the kids name, troy or something. husky rider. up and over off the start...into the crowd. they came by so fast and so close it would take your breath away- good point, keep and eye peeled. pro sumo is the ticket man....watching or racing.
Troy Herfoss, he rode with us off road in SD east county, he rips off road as well. He was here staying with another friend who is factorypro racing owner. Troy is doing well in OZ roadracing. I did not know he augured over the wall. Sumo is exciting but I still like GP roadracing and top tier MX best for spectating. but its all good!
Would be sweet to have another event like the duel at the docks. But Troy lee probably wont have much if anything to do with it since they sold off their whole supermoto team of bikes.. maybe they'd still be willing to help sponsor? Supermoto Online is starting put somethin together for October of this year. They're shooting for one big event like the superbiker's race in Mettet, Belgium that's held once a year.. http://www.supermotoonline.com/SM Project Phase1 10.22.10.html
