Good video, nice passing, so, is that a first place novice achievement? George, If the second loop was rocky, it must have been real rocky, that was enough rocks in the loop 1 for my taste.
i did the loop but the vid is some elses credit, just glad he posted it to show how doggone sharp and steep that stuff is out there.
Now that is a good sample of what a Dist 37 National first loop is all about. In the 26 min he recorded i do not think that bike saw 3rd gear.People just have this idea that desert racing is flat out across the flat. Most of the time he recorded he was riding by him self and there was no dust.I have alway felt desert racing is safer then motocross ,just make it past the bomb start and for the next 40 miles if you do 1 loop or 80 miles if you do 2 loops is all about you riding againt the desert. There is limited contact againt other racers and as you can see most will move over as you catch them. That first loop had quads and beg make it so if you can ride you can make it.Now loop 2 is a hole different thing we get rid of the quads and the beg and we break out the really tight stuff all still ridable.Any one who has ever rode a bike needs to come try a desert race no gate fee everyone is going the same direction there is a amublance in the pits a chopper in the air plus paramedics on bikes that also follow the course Come enjoy the desert before the govt closes it and we all all forced to ride in a small inclosed fenced off private spot. Gee that sounds like motocross We got robertaccio to come try it and he is hooked of all the guys from his area that talk bikes only robertaccio and one other came to give it a try .Next weeken is another National in Red Mt Ca near Ridgecrest so think about it
I will be back in the H&H game at the round 3 edition to support the local dez down here. looking forward to the RynoLand Nat Western Nat Hare scramble as well which is a more closed course type thing with short @10 mile loops.
finished 10th out of 35, 40B starters, they only listed the top 20 per class and all 20 slots were filled so we don't know how many were 40B DNFs from the start. I am very happy with my "top 10 in class finish" As for my Husky class OA finish,,,,A Top 15 finish! There are 13 Husky's listed in the top twenty per class list I think I may be the 13th possible the 12th Husky to finish, if it wasn't for those Zip Ty guys ........, like we said there is large Husky presence in the D37 zone,,,when the final comes out with all the finishing positions listed we do a full count of all the Huskys.
Looks like most were out for a Sunday ride... :ride: Rob....I was looking for a Champagne or Beer glass. Congrats,
Thank you, R It can't get much more fun ..I actually got Nat points!!! that really is funny for an old goofball!!
That first loop was pretty darn gnarly...I really enjoyed the guy voicing his concern over some the bad stuff!
