Row 15!! Should be perfect. What is the terrain like at this one? I would love to but still paying for the driving costs from Round 1. I think it may be time to go old school with a cheap hatchback and a trailer..
My wife thinks they told her row 14 but that is OK by me. It should be good. I always travel "OLD SCHOOL". I camp in my van like we did in the 70s. How do you think I afforded to go to the Nat'ls all these years ! LOL. I honestly don't like staying in Hotels. I like waking up at the event. I just got to park close to the Porta Cans to make the Wife happy. Not too many hills as most is fairly flat with some short man made hills from where they built railroad beds 100 years ago. They call them "MOGOLS" . They can be challanging to ride fast. Some sudden dropoffs too. But mostly sandy soil. So if it doesn't storm just before the event it shoud be good. Camp is in a old WWII training base. Do not leave the trail as you might get tangled in barbed wire or telegraph wire (which is worse). The old telegraph wire is aged copper wire that has weathered and hardened over the last 100 years. You can't even cut it with dykes (Side cutters). I have seen guys have to remove their wheels to get it out. There are also bunkers hiding out there left from the oid military base. Don't want to fall into one of those either. Stay on the trail. Lots of open Pines to ride through. Camp is on the old military roads which are still there.
I should be on row 4 but haven't seen a listing posted. Entry was mailed for Arkansas about the same time as the online starting grid was posted.
Good luck guys. I can vouch for how tough old telegraph wire can be. Snagged some that was being used as lightening rod at an old burnded down lookout. It beat me like a drum. GO FAST / TAKE CHANCES
I am 14E . HEY, There are surprisingly spots still open ! Come on down ! The weather should be perfect. 80 degrees in the day and 60 degrees at night. They got .57" of rain today.
I just saw the 2 time world MX champion Trampas Parker is on row 42. He has been riding some H/S as of late in La.
Dwight, Go show up the young dudes!! Keep the vet/sen class alive and well!! I saw that T Parker has been doing off road stuff and his crew are putting on a series, kinda like GNCC type HS events Arcadiana Racing promoting the Offroad cup 3 man team series. Anyway looking forward to news about this round have fun down there (you ride the 144?) PS redo your avatar its all blurry.
yes, see ya there if you need a ride group we have a 3 man group (trail riders/slower-me) with additional fast guys group of 3 as well that we will hook up with from time to time as well. see PM for more info
I am riding the 2011 WR150. I am loving it and getting faster all the time. Trying to build my strength back up after my bout with Parsonage Turner Syndrone back in early 2008. But at least my hand is now working most of the time. I redid my Avatar. Is that OK ? This photo was taken this past weekend.
They threw out the first section after Lafferty complained when he took the the main trail instead of following the arrows. So some rode a longer course than they were supposed to. Alan Randt straighted out the course on Friday when they saw it was possible to cut that portion of the course. I had a bad 2nd (1st scored section) for some reason. I did miss a corner but it shouldn't have been that bad. The rest of the day went pretty good but I just couldn't make up the time lost on my first section. I ended up 5th. Bike ran well .
