I'm trying to remove the chain guide from the swingarm of a '78 CR250. However, the bolt is rusted in place and won't budge.:banghead:

Can somone tell me if the hole going through the swingarm is threaded or if only the end of the bolt is threaded (for the nut that goes on the end)?

If the hole going through the swingarm is not threaded I can put the nut back on and try to pound it back through the swingarm hole. If, on the other hand, the hole going through the swingarm is threaded I'll have to be more careful about breaking the bolt.

My 77 CR250 uses am 8mm bolt through the swingarm with a nut.
I'm not sure if the 78 is the same, but I would think it is.
On mine the nut is outboard on the swingarm.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks for posting a reply. So it looks like I can either press it our or use heat and a big hammer to beat it out. Thanks again for taking the time to post a reply and your efforts to help out. :notworthy:
