I have a Lectron equipped 07 WR250 with a 300 kit installed. I unloaded it this evening after work to ride a little. Started it, it idled for a few seconds then sounded like it ran out of fuel. Had plenty in the tank but the float bowl was empty. Pulled the fuel line, good stream of gas flowed out but carb will not take any. I can't even blow into the carb with a piece of extra fuel line. I'm really at a loss because I rode two evenings ago with no issues. Before I tear into it can anyone make a suggestion? Thankful for the transparent float bowl. Saved some unnessasary checking.

Tap the bowl maybe a stuck float.

I attach a piece of fuel line to the inlet on the carb and blow as hard as I can and no flow, none. Won't budge.

I've never had floats to stick in the up position and no fuel in the bowl

Try sucking back on the line instead of blowing in.

It is a simple needle and seat like any carb. Might have to take it off and see if it has a chuck of crud in it.

Did that as well. I was hoping I wouldn't have to take it off from the bike, looks like I will though. I suppose these have a needle valve like a normal carb? I've never had it apart, no reason to until now.

Sounds novice of me to be stumped by this but it seems unlikely that I could not blow a piece of crud out of the way. I run an inline filter also. I'll see when I remove it this evening. Working today UGH!

An update. No trash in the float bowl. As it turns out the needle valve Is sticking in its seat for some reason.
Don't know why. I run 50/50 110 race fuel & 90 oct real gas with 40 to 1 motul. After it comes free no more issues until it sets over night. Just a thing.
Anyway, I love this Lectron, we rode Sunday, hill climbed some. Could lose my momentum on a climb for what ever reason and just come back on it and pull right out of it. Saved my rear on acouple of right-of-ways.

Polish the sides of the needle valve but dont hit the sealing cone area. Might help. I have seen this issue before on other carbs.

I have that condition with about any carb. I use the kill switch to tame it for the first few seconds. Now that you mention it i think I have this condition less with my Lectron. I think it might be excessive fuel int he crankcase clearing itself. Not sure though.

I've noticed it much more on a mikuni than a pwk . i think it is carb related

On initial start up mine will idle high but not what I would consider excessive. I let it go for a second or three then push the choke off and it settles into a nice normal idle.
Like you I didn't fiddle with the metering rod for a long time cause it ran sooooo good. But finally couldn't resist fooling with it so I leaned it out a half turn or so. Still runs great but is harder to start when I shut it off and start it back up. I'm going to richen it back up and see if it starts easier.
Although, for some reason, it's always taken at least two if not three kicks after warmed up.

I will be home on the 9th and expect the garage will be about 40 degrees when I fire the bike up for the first time in 1-1/2 months. I hope it will fire up without choking for that will tell me I am still rich. The last ride I had was bogging on top even though before, I had cleaned up the bog by going leaner. I dont know why it would revert back to running rich, but I hope I can nail it down now that cool weather has returned.

would it not be the case that the first few moments the air is simply a few degrees cooler and thus holds more oxygen, after a while the air fuel mixture is heated up in the part between the carb and the cylinder a a few degrees which is not happening in the early start.
