So what needle have you found works best with the Mikuni TMXx for the 250 and 300.
I know the RM needle is prefered for the 125, but is it for the 250 and 300 aswell.

I'm currently making the switch from the old TMX to the newer TMXx, I'm of believe if the TMX is set up right it will perform better as the PWK and have more snap.

I'm running the GAY needle in the 4th notch (2nd from richest) in my 09 WR250 and it works good with my FMF Gnarly pipe. The stock needle E1BFY43-74 worked good with the stock pipe but the pipe caused it to flatten out on top end. When I changed to the Gnarly pipe the stock needle had too much taper and would compromise the top or the bottom of the mid-range depending which clip it was in.

    Bart,
To go from old TMX to newer TMXX, you need the newer rubber intake. It lifts the carb up so the TMXX does not hit the case. You will need a 5.0 slide and you need the 04 RM 125 needle, 6CHY 16-63. Start with middle clip and 440 main/40 pilot. That will get you close then adjust from there.

Dartyppyt is that what you're running in your 250 or 125?
I knew I had to use the newer intake (TMXx is aprox 10mm shorter), now to find one.
    I have bought me a TMXx from a CR125 (2003 I think), I don't know what's in there but I don't think it'll have a 5.0 slide
A friend of mine has a YZ125 with the TMXx and it's awesome (had to rejet it myself but once it was it was awesome).

I'm starting to believe that people switch to a PWK (with preconfigured jetting) before messing with a wrongly adjusted stock carburetor hence they see an instant improvement, still hasn't conviced me though.

So I'm going to experiment some, with the newer TMXx and PWK (38mm Airstriker), when I can get my hands on one.

    Regards, Bart

    Bart,

Call Halls, they might have a 5.0 slide laying around for 50 bux. That needle was my old setting. With it now warmer out you might have to drop size of pilot or main. But that needle was a perfect fit, but only worx with 5.0 slide. I ported mine, modded the pipe and modded the inside of my carb, so all my settings are different now. I now am up to 6.0 slides and make my own needles for both bikes.

Be careful on the needle. I know that Husky changed something around 09 because JD jetting does not have a kit for the newer ones. I changed the needle jet in mine so I can use the JD Jetting needles.

That is for a 300 I guess, or does this also count for the 250?

I just rode my 09WR250 for three hours in CO at 7,500-8,500 feet without changing the jetting from MO at 1,500 feet. (GAY needle 4th notch 27.5 pilot 430 main). it was awesome. The altitude tamed it down a bit but it was all 1st and 2nd with an occasional 3rd gear rip. It had a bit of spooge but most likely due to Ammsoil Dominator and slow burning VP110. I'm so satisfied with the way this bike growls up the rocks and step ups I couldn't stop smiling.

Sorry for my late answer! i think the needle is for Suzuki RM 125 or 250, but it should be available at your Husky dealer to order. part nr. should be 8B00H1785.

The jetting is close to identical for both 250 and 300, so that should not be any problem:=)! part nr as above=).
