I'm designing some new bar clamps for my '07 TE for 1.125" bars that I purchased from a fellow CH member. I could buy them, but I can get them made for about the same price and buying would just be too easy.

Any help with the following queastions/requests would be much appreciated.

    Questions:

1.) Of those who have mounted a GPS, is there a universal mounting hole like on cameras? If so, what size is it?

2.) Does anybody know what size the universal mounting holes for cameras are?

3.) Is there a time when you needed to mount more than 2 gadgets?

4.) Where did you get the mounting kit for the GPS/is it a popluar option for mounting gps units on bikes?

5.) If you purchased a gps mouting kit design-specific to motorcycles, did it come with a bar clamp? If so, did the bar clamp have a tapped hole/threaded rod configuration (kind of like a mirror mount)? If so, what size is the tapped hole?

6.) What were the problems you encountered with mounting the device? Biggest gripe?

7.) What were the highpoints of the mouting system?

    Requests:

1.) Could someone please post pic's showing specific details of how the GPS or ANY other device is mounted on the bars. (The more the merrier here-show me what you got. I don't care if you got a flat screen and a microwave mounted on the bars, I want to see it.)

2.) I need a website from which you or someone you know has actually purchased such a mounting device.

3.) I need to see some pics of how your steering stabilzer mounts under the bar.

I got a fancy GPS for flying and it came with a RAM mount. RAM uses a 1" ball that attaches to many things and allows a lot of versatility. Pretty sturdy too. I got another for my moto GPS (Garmin 76CX I think) and have yet to mount it. Beware of the RAM clutch lever mount as it is not compatible with the Magrua on the TE 310 I own.

    I have no photos, unfortuantely...

Call these guy. the final answer in GPS mounting period. Lots of not so obvious mounting and isolation designed into it. I would suggest you buy it from there and get the right stuff the first time.
