250-500cc new cylinder price vs replate

will be up for a cylinder replate in next couple of months & weighing it up as opposed to getting brand new cylinder. can any of you fellas in the states(or anywhere other than Oz for that matter) give me a ballpark accurate price of what a new cylinders worth please? cheers
