Hey guys, Craig here from NZ, I have an 06 610sm with approx 3000kms on it, awesome bike but I've previously owned a 525sx motard and the husky needs a little bit more oomph.

I've read a thousand different threads on here and my mind is boggling. so before I purchase some kit around the traps I thought i better ask again.

Bike is bog standard at the moment.
I'm going to gut the standard exhaust. Order a JD kit from thumper or somewhere else?
Lots of talk about air box mods and k&n filters....which way should I go?

I'm at nigh on sea level here so some jetting advice based on mods would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Hey Craig welcome to the Cafe. I assume that you're bike is a '06 or '07 in which case I can come up with some pretty good jetting numbers for you. I'll have to look up what my final jetting specs were and get back to you. You'll be surprised how much difference there is when properly jetted and a free flowing exhaust.

Craig, on my 06' I've got a JD Jet kit, red needle, needle four from top, 45 pilot and a
Leo Vince muffler installed. My range has been 100 ft above Sea to 9000 ft w/out sputtering or powerloss. A lot of 610 owners have cut circular holes in the airbox for a little more airflow. (see "Pics of your 610") I just use the twin air filter and don't know
if you'll get an advantage by using "K&N" or "Uni". Jerry
Also a 175 main I forgot to mention previously.
