I was out for about the same amount of time and went with a Husqvarna TE449. After a couple mods I absolutely love the bike it is treating me very well! It is also street legal so I can ride it to the trails and around here there are a few trails you have to be a licensed vehicle to use. Price was good, add FMF Powercore, reflash ECU, and a couple more little things, I found on this forum that just help it to run and start better. Best decision I have made in a long time(riding again) hope you find the same conclusion. Best of luck!!
Welcome to the forum. What bike are you looking at picking up? Not sure where you are in CO but I recommend Big D Motorsports, awesome little shop. They rent out the 4 strokes if you wanted to ride for the day and see what your into
New member here and first post. Also out of the game since mid '80's. I just picked up a '76 WR250. We're still working some stuff out with it, but so far, an awesome bike. Very forgiving. Would highly recommend it.
Welcome to the Cafe Husky. The bike you may want will always depend on a few things. 1. What type of riding will you be doing ? 2. How much do you weigh ? 3. 4 stroke or 2 stroke ? 4. How much do you want to spend ? After you determine where your headed, then you may need to test a few bikes to make sure it's right for you.
Welcome guys, looking for new toys is always fun right? One other thing to consider is state laws regarding types of power plants and where they can be used. Fir instance, CA has many draconian laws that affect what type of bike you can ride and where, difficulty in plating off road bikes converted for dual sport use etc. It if definitely not the 80s any more friends, and state air boards and environazis have changed things quite a bit in terms of the law and our fun. So check the rules before you drop the coin. But fun hasn't been outlawed (yet) so go get some!
