Ok Should I go for a used 07 TE510 with minimal extras for 4k Or a new 09 for 7K out the door? Thanks for any usefull input.
Interesting choices. 07 has a carb and no fuel pump 09 has efi & fuel pump, the efi on those work decent enough Then there is also a 2010 - the last year for that motor and Mikuni efi the 2011 with the new '511' motor & Keinin efi. Not sure what the correct decision would be for you.

The 2010 has a few nice things the 09 doesnt. Better cage around fuel pump to keep it from slipping, better lights front and back, tank shrouds have impregnated graphics to fix the sticker one falling off on older models, slightly better residual value etc. Tho if you can get an 09 for under $6500 new, it would be worth wile, and the other stuff is pretty minor. Both are great bikes though.
An 09 510 for under $6500 new would be a steal. But really... looks like George @ Up-tite is less than an hour from you...why not just drive over and take a look at what he has to offer.
I'd call, it is New Years eve. I've no idea what hours George may have today.. Maybe he could do something extra before the end of the year, I'm not sure how it works with bikes, but car dealers are always anxious to sell cars before the end of the year.
