Hey guys, nice to meet you all, and excited to be a part of this site. I just bought a 98 te610 and im just getting to know it. my knowledge is very limited and I'm struggling to just do routine maintenance on the thing. The biggest problem im having is that my bike seems really different from the manual. one big difference being that the kick start is on the left. Im already running into problems on my first oil change. I took both drain bolts out and a bearing came out of one? and I cant seem to find where the oil filter is. Maybe my bike is a different model? I'm sure a lot of you guys are laughing at my questions, but its all good. Ill take all the ridicule as long as I can get some good advice. Here are some pics of my engine. Any help is hugely appreciated.
Well, it looks like a `98 to me, with maybe an aftermarket case cover... I'm sure someone with more knowledge of the older models will be able to help you out here WoodsChick
Actually I wouldn’t worry about that It’s not the style of this place at all, one of the perks of an adult populated site is that people concentrate more on helping each other and less on being smartass Would love to help you but don’t know anything about your model Hopefully you’ll get your answer soon enough
I know nothing about your earlier model, but here's a thread over at ADV rider that might be of some help. CLICK
There is no separate oil filter, just the pipe shape screens. You have to keep it clear when change the oil. Have any questins, mail me, will help you with the pleasure. cheers
