Just bought a brand new 2009 SM510R from a local dealer that had it tucked away for a few years. Dealer took care of the fuel pump while I was there and even put in a 300psi fuel line and clamps. Brought it home and its now got a pcV, charcoal canister delete, o2 delete and 1/4 throttle stop removed. Runs like a beast! Used to have Yamaha's, so this is quite a new experience for me. Any words of advice (i've been reading quite a bit on these things as it is).
WOW I would have bought that bike instantly. I am truly jealous, one of the last real supermoto bikes from the factory.
it depends on what kind of information you need guidance. When you read this forum, so get a lot of information. Why not have the right stock upper gas tank plastic panels?
Thanks guys and I am really just looking into what kind of maintenance i am in for. I need to get to a husky dealer to see if they can get me the manual and service intervals. I'm having a hard time finding the Arrow exhaust for this bike too.
i would suggest you get the zip ty magnetic oil cover to filter out the metallic bits and pieces that occur w wear and tear. change the oil a bunch. use dino oil on the break in. george at uptime has lots of experience with these engines along w zip ty.
Thanks, I'll take a look at that right now! I ordered a bunch of oil filters from the not so local dealer and got prices on a bunch of other stuff including service manual.
