Through an Italian boy who has read some of my posts on your forum, I recovered to a dealer who enlightened me about the issue that seems never to abandon some of us. (I'm one of them). The dealer told me that a technician Husqbvarna told him that some of the units do not take TR650 stored data loaded by updating MOSS. In fact my bike despite update still suffers from stalling. The good news (but to be taken with the tongs until they'll be successful) is that Husqvarna has recognized this problem and seem willing to replace defective units in the collateral. I called my dealer, I explained it and said I want a replacement. They told me that will order. I will update later when I have new news. hello everyone
Great news fingers crossed,....I would rather have the ECU/MAP fixed than the Airbox, because the Airbox we can fix ourselves.
Ok, I understand. I thought there was a problem on some media with the airbox. Here, however, it is a design problem for all bikes sold. That problem will never be solved under warranty because there is no way to correct it with replacement of original parts. The speech engine stall instead is a different matter. Li solving the parent has given updating with Moss, but some media continue to have the same problem even after because there are some faulty units that do not store the changes. Next week I call the dealer again because I did not know anything more, and if I new I tell you. Hello to all
Have you tried turning the idle set screw 1/6-1/4 of a turn in? This is the amount you can open the butterfly without any significant TPS change. Or you could try the other direction. May or may not help. Has anyone tried this yet?
Sorry for the ignorance, but on our bikes where is the idle screw? It is electronically controlled by the ECU?
Where is it? Hidden and nearly impossible to reach. Best to get at when the airbox is off. If you had a 2.5 mm hex allen on a flexible cable, you can reach it from either side. Breaking the locktite loose, would be a problem with a flexi cable hex. The photo below shows it, but this throttle body and aircleaner is not on the bike. These are my spares LOL. It is on the left side front of the Throttle body. (towards the top)
In the next photo, it is easy to see that there is a mechanical adjustment for the idle. My guess is if we open it up a bit, the off idle stumble may go away. The dealer can plug their equipment in all day and adjust, but if they do not change the factory preset, which could be off, they cannot fix it. If you open it too much, the computer may not be able to compensate, without showing a tps error. At a 1/6 of a turn, the tps did not change resistance. At 1/4 turn it did, but only slightly. At a half turn, I think you may change rpm by nearly 100, and the ecu would most likely have a fit, maybe not. Turning it down, might work. I do not like my engine idling at 1550 rpm, but who knows, it keeps the oil flowing and battery charging. When I set up a new carb, I used to back the screw out until the butterfly fully closed, then run the screw into it until it just touched and then 1/2 to 3/4 turn more for the initial idle setting. Don't know what it should be on our bikes (fuel injected) TB. Anyway,it is a setting we can monkey with without the expensive moss tool. I'm going to inject a tip if you do this. Before you make any new changes, reset the ecu. If the ecu has any learning, you want to wipe that out each and every adjustment.
ANOTHER GREAT TIP...thanks!! I'll see it I can find that spare remote-idle-adjuster-cable floating about the garage from one of the 1000 V-Stroms, it might just fit and has a knob + bracket to mount it somewhere handy. Adjust idle without tools and fiddling in 1 second.
Thank you so much for the information. For the unit have not been able to find a second to call the mechanic. I am overwhelmed by the work ... Ugh. news, however, as soon as I will update soon.
Yep... source code for CPU/Moss Tool /mapping program. Then things would be interesting. The bike is a dodo never going to be made again.. Why doesnt the new owner who really I think couldnt give a rats I am sure, just let it go. Let us worry about the best way to look after it. God knows people here are far more informed and definitely motivated.
