So my rear tire is used up after about 3,000 miles. I was doing mostly commuting duties, but have started doing some trackdays. I haven't had the stock front diablo slip on me yet, but the rear has slid numerous times. I never ride in the rain, so wet traction is not a factor. I plan to stick with 150 width rear. Last time I bought tires I got Metzeler M1s for my SV so as you can see I don't buy tires very often and haven't tried that many brands!

    Thanks for your suggestions!

Why no option for Pilot Power 2CT's or the Power Pures? If you're not disappointed with the Diablos, you may consider the Pilot Road 2's or 3's, which would give you some more life.

From the crappy stock tyres I went to Bridgestone Battlax S20 tyres and have never looked back.

I didn't consider the 2CTs or Pures because they're not available in 150 rear as far as I know....

My 610 had Attack SMs when I got it, they were about done and I didn't really care for them. I've been running Bridgestone S20s on my Busa and love them. So I put a set on the 610, and so far I love them. Now Im thinking about putting a set on my R1

I'm usually running the ContiAttack SM, but I'll try the Maxxis Goldspeed Pre-Cut Slicks next since they're street legal :O

I thought street tires are better for street because they have better grip at lower temperatures and that slicks are difficult to get up to optimum temperature on the street?

Not quite. You can get slicks plenty hot in the twisties, but track slicks don't last long. I ride with some guys every now and then that run straight slicks, and they are rolling rubber of the edges after a good ride.

What is you experience with the ContiAttack SM? Are you happy with them on your 630? I just changed to them last week, but at the moment the weather is to bad to go for some ride to test it... As i do not go to the track, i think i do not need slicks ;-)
