my local dealer has no idea when the new wr150 comes nor how much you south of the border buggers are riding new model bikes and my dealer doesnt even know when he gets one..What gives oh and nobody wants my used husky........and my dealer(local) wont make a fair deal ...guess he figures he wont be able to sell my bike *edit * wont give details on deal.....yet I know that the us may get them cheaper but........how much. i know of quite a few that are going south of the border. not too good for candian dealers Tell me why the candian distributor is different . tell me what my sales guys doesnt know
The dealer hear in Kamloops is going through some very hard times right now with losing Tom the owner who has been there since day one. Very sad times indeed. Not to take any local business away but have you called ScottyR he'll be more then helpful. Bought both my Husky from him.
And there's the problem, if you want good dealers in your area...You have to patronize your local dealer! What good is buying the bike from an Ontario dealer and getting no service/advice/help in B.C. or anywhere else? SUPPORT your local dealers and they will support you!
I'm not sure, but I believe, if you buy a motorcycle in the states and bring it back to Canada, you will have to pay a heavy tax. Anyway, just a thought.
that makes NO SENSE i would love to support my dealer but if prices are out of reach, there are no NEW bikes on the floor, very few parts and no awnsers as to when a new bike is to arrive How do i support them... should i have to wait a week for a front fender for a 08 bike??? this is getting off topic, i dont blame the dealer ... .iam more interested in why they dont have anwsers regarding time line/pricing on the 2011's.Why are canadian dealers not supported like some of the shops south of the border?
Not sure about UR dealer ... some are lame but the great white north did de-criminalize wacky tobacy ... I have to cut them slack and have already officially taken back 98% of everything I said bad about them ..
Can be a somewhat complicated process if you intend on buying a street legal bike and putting a plate on it in Canada. All depends on the manufacturer. To bring an off road only bike across and have it as a competition only bike, it's easy peasy, just have to pay GST (not sure about the the HST in BC) and your good to go. Not sure about ever being able to register it though. Might be tricky even getting off road only registration. Give your local ICBC person a call and find out.
ScottyR is a Canadian dealer, no need to buy in the states & ship north. Give him a call, I'm pretty confidant he'll have the answers you're looking for.
I have it on good authority that Canada is going to get some 11s before the US market gets them! I am not speaking on behalf of the Dist, but I am sure they are waiting for the right time to hedge their CDN $ against the EU so they can set prices for the year.
Not surprising. Sounds like most of the GG's just landed in the States yet we've had ours since the start of the new year. Have you got any yet Scott? Aww it's a great Country.
Think this might be a better fit over in the general forum. Not really a News item or rumor. Newsroom -> general.
The 2010 Gassers that arrived this week were left-overs at the factory not taken by the previous importer (but necessarily US bound due to VIN issues). There were also 2011s in the same container ... September arrival instead of May this year!
quote"I just shipped a bike to BC last week for $189 if that makes your decision any easier." i have two bikes and want to use either as partial trade.. so unless you want a trade or either sells ....iam going to have to wait till they do....haha iam not allowed to have three says the gf 06 crf250/08wr250husky got a guy looking next week on the honda.
thx.. so i now have to sell both bikes i spoke with a dealer farther from me and he doesnt want a trade now because sled season is here.i guess he figures it wont sell through winter. so i got two bikes for sale now.. wont be getting a new bike till one of the other sells..:rant: then my money will go south or east....not local.
Part of the issue as I have learned from a fam friend who runs a Bimmer dealership is that the distribution of Husky's is run by an independent 3rd party company that still has distribution rights. As such, BMW is not currently leveraging their existing dealer network. If a BMW dealership is carrying Husky's it's because they are eager to do so, sadly not because they are immediately available. As well, there's service and training issues still to be ironed out. I'm sure it'll change over eventually... Till then the guys at Pacific BMW/Yamaha have been super eager about the brand in Richmond, BC. Apparently some of their techs are going over to Italy in the late fall to get direct training on the bikes. It would be nice but I'm not holding my breath. Sure would love to have more support in Canada!!
