• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

No wiser words ever spoken  I still need one more ---

Ok, I got it sorted out, kinda... I managed to get one clip on You Tube.
Again, this is my first outing with my new GoPro and I'm still pretty green when it
comes to Helmet Caming. Is that a word? Lol.... This vid was done a little over a week
ago up at Georgetown (Rock Creek) and I was riding alone so I'm just taking my time.
I have no idea what possessed me to narrate as I was going but I will refrain from doing
that again. One thing I noticed about cams is it doesn't really give a true perspective
of the terrain. Meaning that there's sections that were like tricky step ups but you don't
really see it when you watch the video. Anyway, I'm still trying to figure out the whole
editing thing. I've got Windows XP and was not able to use "Movie Maker" so any suggestions on that would be appreciated. Oh yeah, the reason it's taken me a week to
get this working is because I wasn't able to view any video at first because my computer
wasn't up to standard so I went and bought a new motherboard and Core3 Processor and
everything else so I should be good to go in that regard. Jerry in Sac

First ride with my new GoPro Helmetcam. It's just one clip. Took almost
50 minutes to upload this on You Tube. I've got four more clips but
Holy shit, it would've taken all night to upload them all. What's up with
that ?
This is at Rock Creek up in Georgetown. I was riding alone so if it seems
like I'm riding at Grandma's pace that's because I am. I'd hate to crash,
bust my leg and be stuck out in the boonies my myself. I'm always overly
cautious when I ride alone. Oh yeah, please excuse the stupid narrating
by me. I don't know what I was thinking but it kind of ruins the whole trip.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqgUDuIaLlo NEVERMIND !!!

Well, 50 minutes to upload the damn thing on You Tube. An additional 10 minutes to process it.
After all that they take it off because it's too long !! What a pain in the ass

I tried to delete this thread but it didn't work. I'll get this shit figured out some day, OUT !!

UR not thr only one ... I made my living and retirement with computers and I still hate them to this day ...

There you go. The 610 is quite trail worthy arnt they. Good first video Mate.

Thank you for sharing.

There is a movie maker for XP that I downloaded off of the internet, it was a little confusing, you have to get the one expressly for XP. Once you do, it's really simple to use. If I can do it, a dead person can do it....

Oh yeah... You can simply buy editing programs too, but they are more complicated to the max. I'm still working on a vid from Barstow to Vegas......
