course looks like it starts off on all the dry lake beds, and gets real fun down south. flying down next tuesday
I can't imagine "knevo" is a different Steve from WA racing the NORRA Mex.1000 than the Steve I know. Here's you NORRA ride Steve...
Apparently being a new member I'm finding it difficult to get pics up quick and easy. I'll figure it out eventually... Another bad Mo-Fo from WA State is racing a Husky in the NORRA 1000, Jonah Street. Should be fun!
You're pics should load appreciably faster now, new members have a few constraints until they make a few posts. That garage space sure does look familiar.
yea, thats me tim! when i was on the pro truck team, and they would prerun in there 4 seater, i would chase them around on my bike. so for some reason they called me stevo knevo!? that bike looks bad ass
Yep, that's the character. I've known Steve for ~6 years, since he went on a Baja Bound ride with us. Right off the bat I liked how Steve paced himself and "how" he rides in Baja. Having full trust in Steve I lined him up to race with my buddy Adam Mitchell, owner of the Husky. This will be Adams 1st race in Baja and I wanted someone solid as his partner, like Steve (no I'm not kissing ass, just sayin'). It's a 430, but it's not an automatic. Jonah is a last minute fill in for the injured Antonio Narino (So.Cal. guy). I believe it's an '87 430. I saw it yesterday but didn't think to take pics of it. I think it will be # 42. If I'm wrong then it's # 65. Either way, that team (with the 2 Huskys) has those 2 entries and both main riders (Antonio and Russ) got injured so they have new riders - Jonah solo on one bike and duo of Cameron Corfman/Brian Schmuckle (So.Cal) on the other. I'm riding a Honda XR, but you don't want to hear about that red bike....
Wow, I have really been asleep/busy. This is in 2 days! Welcome BajaBoundmoto! Who are the key personal putting on the race?
"I'm riding a Honda XR, but you don't want to hear about that red bike...." c-mon Tim of course we do its all good and this is a super cool adventure for you guys, we look forward to hearing all the Baja news!!! Rob besides your bro does rides a WR125 right? so that helps .....
been like 12 years tim, ktm hired you to control there pits at the 98 vegas to reno, anyway that honda you built looks like something i would want to take on every ride, especally baja!
That Honda has a real story behind it. I was given a quick brief about its history! You guys keep us up to date on this adventure, and someone get photos this is set to be a classic!!
Now ay, what a small world! Maybe TD gave you a story about it? But for sure it has a bit of history. Part of which makes me kinda nervous.... 1988 xr600r. Bought it for $500 (with CA plate!) as a pile of paint overspray and rust. Couldn't get the cylinder off (frozen bolts) so we're racing with 22 year-old top end. Looks a LOT better now! Here's an XT to be ridden by a guy from back east
Ron Bishop (Baja Legend) finishing up the Husky he'll race with Chilly White The CR250 to be ridden by George Penninton (formerly So.Cal., now CO.)and friend (CO.) And it was confirmed by some Team Green guys at the Nat. Hare & Hound this past weekend that Larry Roeseler will be racing NORRA on an '89 KX500. Great, I thought I was on a cheater bike. Now it's a race....
