With my size 12 offroad boots (Fox F3s) I found it difficult to shift gears. I removed the rubber inserts on the footpegs yesterday and it made quite an improvement - I should have done it from day one as the rubber was slippery as hell in muddy conditions and a disaster waiting to happen. The dealer also put a Hammerhead tip lever on for me to try & increase the length, see: I also bought a new pair of boots yesterday, Gaerne G Adventures, which are a fairly new release. They are a light offroad boot that are far better than a full-on dirt boot for tame offroad/adventure riding, as they offer far better lever feel, are much lighter & more flexible, are easy to walk in, are waterproof etc. I was tempted to get the Sidi Adventure boots, but they were nearly twice the price at $650, which is too much for me. I've only worn them for a few hours but initial impressions are that they are very comfortable on & off the bike, offer very good feel (compared with dirt boots), have a good chunky sole for footpeg & overall grip, excellent build quality & look great. I am very happy with them as a mid-priced boot, which is all I need. There is a review of them at http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/gaerne-g-adventure-boots and a few pics are enclosed:
If you still find it too cramped, you can try this; http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/foot-peg-relocator.7323/ Love the boots
I wear size 13 boots and Husky666's footpeg relocators really help. But I am still looking for a longer shift lever.
The pegs on the SM/TE are not the best... Aftermarket pegs are bigger & better as far as grip, but the bigger peg may hamper your big foot/shifting problems.
Yep. The pegs from my WR125 fit but are a bit wider so I was back to the original SM pegs. I think I'll swap for my PivotPegz and see how that works.
