Hi again I'm about to change the oil and the filter and I wanted to add some additive (Lucas Oil stabilizer) to my oil to reduce a small engine knock. (been told its normal). Was wondering if that would damage my engine or if its fine and its cool to add it. It has 14.5k miles (23,335 kph)
what oil are you using? Can't comment on that particular additive but generally would avoid any. Both my Terras really like ester oils like Penrite MC4 or Motul 5100/7100. In my experience a good improvement over the Castrol - engine is quiter and clutch is happier too.
lucas oil stabilizer is complete garbage. it has zero wear additives in it...all it does is thicken things, while diluting your actual engine oils precious additives.
