I have a 2014 TE250 and i'm curious to know what premix and engine oil everyone here uses.

At first, i used Maxima Castor 927 for my premix and Cross Power 2T for engine oil. I then used the Cross Power 2T for both the premix and engine oil and noticed zero splooge coming out of the pipe at all. Ran quite well, but i couldn't tell too much of a difference besides the 927 smells better.

I was just surprised that the book calls to use the Cross Power 2T for both the engine oil and premix.

What do all the experts on here use?

That must be a misprint or redundant. Two stroke oil is not designed to protect your gearbox and clutch! Unless there is another page that recommends the transmission oil.

I thought it was quite fishy. I would think Top Speed 4T 15W/50 would be accurate.

What i keep seeing a bunch of is the Rotella T6 and the Mobil Type F ATF. Thinking of trying the Mobil as i change the oil every 2hrs as it is. Anyone else try either of these?

In my smokers I use Delo 15-40 (rotella competitor) for trans oil and change it every 20-25hrs. I've got 175hrs on my CR165 and the bottom end has never been opened. My clutch is getting tired, but 175hrs will do that regardless of oil type.

For premix I've used Klotz R50, Torco Gp7 and Amsoil Dominator (all at 40:1) without issue. I recently switched to Lucas semi-synth premix which was recommended to me by a trusted motor builder @ 32:1. The Lucas has a low flash point and only costs $28/gallon.

Just a note it has to be Actual Type F, not a universal type F. Wal Mart brand is fine as is their oil. I change my oil often, it is cheap, but could go longer between changes for sure. One can run ATF type F straight in the gearbox too, it is great for the clutch and I have not had a trans failure, going back to when I was kid racing flat track.

Not sure yet. I have about 2 gals of amsoil gas to burn before I make the switch.
Should be low though due to the flash point.

I've been using the Bel Ray H1R at 44:1 and it doesn't spooge much if at all. Liking it so far, but it is pricey.

I've just got myself a TE300 and the manual says 60:1. I managed to get a good deal on the Bel Ray H1R and on the back of the bottle it says to mix at 40:1. Any thoughts on this? I'm still running it in but will use it for part hard dusty trails and part road use. Cheers

I called Bel Ray about their oils and was told that anything from 32:1 to 60:1 is fine. 44:1 came up more than once in the conversation.

I'm using the same Lucas in my 300. 32:1 mixture. Minimal splooge at the cylinder head/expansion chamber area. No splooge at pipe junctions or end of the stinger.

i have noticed the least amount of shavings running the t6 shell rotella blue jug...good stuff. i run it in all bottom ends. i used to use amsoil mc oil but the rotella is much cheaper.

I guess im asking because several people on this chat site says never mix types or brands but ive alwats considered it. I use dex merc atf presently, although last night i drained and added Motul cause i found a full bottle on shelf. I never mixed yet. Is it to get best cusion for gears (oil) and buttery clutch (atf)?

your last question is why i stopped using atf, i get a noticeable difference if debris on the magnet using engine oil, especially rotella. im not very hard on my clutch, but it still fells good, with no drag. when i did use atf, it was type f, which is 20w. most atf oils are around 10w.
its probably best to keep using the same oil, once the clutch fibers are impregnated with it instead of using whatever is around.
