http://www.scooternova.com/wordpress/?p=856#more-856 Saw a article in a scooter mag (dont ask) and some mentalist called Marek Nachlik stuffed a wr360 motor in a vespa admittedly he hacked up a total of 4 vespas to do it but claims 55bhp. Now i goodled husky vespa as you do and a company in hamburg or i dunno its in scooter^ nova link anyway make a conversion plate for the bottom end of a vespa to the top of a wr250 motor they stroke the crank and have offset bigend but wow 51hp out of the 250 Nuts So if your breaking a bike or selling spares ask the buyer what its for and dont sell it to em if its for a ped, cant have them buggers overtaking us! (All comments are in jest and of my own opinion if ive offended you then oops lol)
i have a buddy with 2 yamaha zumas 1 pushed by a 440 majesty and 1 215cc w/EFI and a turbo they eat stock Harleys
its okay juicy, you can admit you would ride a scooter. i would! id like an older vespa, with the 200cc smoker engine. they have the manual trans/gripshift setup. lots of mods available including chambers, carbs, and cylinders! it would be very fun to ride over here especially, as there are no 2 strokes on the road hardly.
Y'know, my dad has a few Vespa carcasses sitting around, and I've got a CR250 jug sitting on a shelf. Maybe it's time to off-load a project to the old man! He generally makes it out to Portland, IN for the August motorbike show, maybe by next year he could show all of those Cushman and Rupp owners what some vintage iron can do!
I probably would if it was a 400 2 pop specially round town, but theyre rubbish off road so not much use to me. I have had a road bike project for 8 years ive done nothing too it as they dont interest me. But a vespa with 55hp ... Grin factor at lights im sure i would be in alot of trouble quickly.
It doesn't take much to eat Harley's. My sons Suzuki 400 bandit redlines at 17k rpm. It would destroy any Harley. Just watch out if there in front of you the nuts and bolts vibrating off.
I hate to waste a rolling Husqvarna frame but a e start kohler engine in a husky frame would make a nice yard bike. Maybe a three wheeler with a cart.
