A quick escape between bands of rain. About 50mi, mostly no rain, but wet and leaves everywhere. This is rainy season riding in Oregon at it's best, you just go for it and sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not. Today it was great, two rainbows, actual sunshine for the first time in a few days, three deer, and a bunch of trick or treating kids.
Tried out the Nuda and the Strada today for short runs. Not as frisky as my 630 and MUCH heavier feeling. In the dealer´s showroom they looked very BMW. Anyone with a 610 or a 630 would be well advised to hold on to (and take good care of) what they´ve got as there´s no more coming in that direction. Wish they´d make a good, light and durable 450cc (or thereabouts) that could be powered up by the customer after market.
Organ donor, you're right. The 630 was designed to be a dirt bike. The Terra is designed to be more of an adventure bike. Husky really emphasized that this wasn't a Dual Sport bike, it's a Dual Purpose bike. Much more in the adventure class, while still making the adventure class fun again. I took one up Ortega Highway out here in So Cal and it handled the twisties very well. Although I think that I could have taken it through the desert woops, I don't think I would have had very much fun (that's what my TE is for). So I guess what I'm getting at is, the 630 and the 650 were designed to be different. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack....now back to roscotom's regularly scheduled program.
