I am getting the bike ready for it but not 100% sure I am going. Going to sign up once I get there. What class do you ride? I will be on a fat TE 450 with a horn.

Good luck to you 2 as I won't be there. Shoulder still at 75% and all those huge rocks and all the rain would probably cause my shoulder to regress back to 50%. Dr said to be patient and I could make stuff worse if I am not patient. Regular riding is fine but all the rocks and the pumping motion it causes will tear the She-ite out of my shoulder injury.

    Good luck

Have fun guys, we just got some much needed rain so that should help the dust factor some.
Carlisle Bike Fest is in town this weekend, not dirt bike stuff, but some interesting "things" to see. You will probably drive by on the way to Blain.

Yes Jed I wore the bling Troy Lee Gear. Un-like you I have to look fast for the pics as you can't tell and the family does not know the difference.

I did not ride very well and I normally like this stuff. I ended up with a good minute on 23 with Cole Kirkpatrick on my minute (not that I saw him) and Lafferty right in front of me on 22. Then there was Nick Fahringer on his Husaberg who was absolutely flying by me every section. This was the first time riding the TE 450 in the rocks and I got the suspension all wrong, I changed the clickers in all directions but just could not get confidence on it. I also boiled the rear brake in 3 sections which is strange as it is fairly fresh. It has been so long since I did that I thought sure I lost the rear master cylinder pin. That is all the excuses I can think of for now....I got 6th in Senior B and finished.

So Jed how did you do at the National Hare Scramble? Looks like Fury did good at the Enduro. How did the TXC do in that first section?

I thought my 250TXC rode very well, had my trials tire mounted 8PSI. ,finally checked my sag, dropped the forks to one notch showing and had a brand new MT-18 scorpion tire and never missed a beat,we were on row 13,my three friends who race B class were on our row along with a AA guy from south jersey,I let him lead into the fist section, but it was clear right away he was not very comfortable in the rocks! so I got by him and hammered away, catching quite a few guys in the rocks, saw only a handfull of huskys out there, very pathetic if you ask me,does Husky have any factory guys running the national enduro series? KTM had four or five big rigs, gas gas had a nice setup and even husaberg had three or four riders,oh well the race was very rocky in the first and second section, the third section before gas was extremely fast! after gas it was very rocky and techincal and the last section of the day was 14 miles of tight trees with rocks, more tight trees, and then it opened up and you were flying at the end,got caught by a couple guys including bobbit and lafferty right at the end, pretty sure I ended up tied for fifth losing the tiebreaker and ended up 6th A senior, not bad considering im sure most of the top 5 are either AA or former AA riders

Great work !! you guys rock (pun)! It is so much more of a fun factor just being on the same course as "those guys" and seeing up close how fast they can rail by,,when you are hangin in at your limit. Great fun and great to always finish!! Good on ya !!R

checking the results, why dont they offer a regional AA class at the nationals,I know they stopped because of attendance was down, but it seems like they would have a full class at every event, just in in my class A-Senior top five are:

    1st Fred Hoess=AA pro rider
2nd Jack Lafferty jr.=AA ECEA 12 time champ
    3rd Clay Stuckey=AA husaberg rep
    4th Dave Gunn=AA Netra rider
    5th Al Switzer,not sure if he was a former AA,but rides A-senior
I got sixth, and was also the top finishing husqvarna

    Fury,

No doubt you were ripping! I was on the WR 250 on row 12. You really turned it on the 2nd half of the day... Nice ride!

Any suspension tips for gettin this thing to smooth out in the rocks? I couldnt go strait to save my life.

thanks, nice meeting you as well, you guys were hauling yourselves,I was behind you after gas and you had a great pace going for a few miles in the rocks,I didnt want to pass, but thought I might be able to push it a little more in there. you guys saved my butt with the allen key the night before to change my front flat,as far as suspension tips,I dont have any,I havent touched my rear shock settings except for the sag,and the forks are all the way out on compression and seven clicks in from full rebound I think? I just trust the bike and keep the power on and keep moving forward

Do you ride a lot of rocks in your neck of the woods?? I have found that tires can make a huge difference in the rocks. I have been runnng the pirelli mt 18 up front and have been happy with that in the rocks. Not so great in the mud though. I put some dlap 756's front and back for a change and thought they stunk in the rocks. Back end of the bike was all over the place. I've run a trials tire on the back, there isn't anything better in the rocks and roots. The back of the bike stays planted and rides right over anything. The mich m12's that were oem on my gasser were the absolute worst tires I ever rode in the rocks!! So far the pirelli mt 16 has been my favorite rear tire for rocks. As far as suspension goes .. if you want to be really fast in the rocks you gotta send it out to get tuned. At least that seems to be the case in my neck of the woods.

I have been riding rocks since I have been on a bike. I spent many years on a KTM riding A-200 then AA. Made the switch to Husky this year and just cant seem to get the susp. to go strait. For tires I go with the Kenda Washougals... Great tires.... I probably just need some more seat time more than anything.

yea i did ok i guess, i was winning but blew a head gasket and had to back it down but ended up blowing a rad hose anyways, after changing it out ended up 2nd in open A, kinda dissapointing after running top 5 overall before the troubles

yanchocik- I run Kendas too and havent been too confident in the Washougals, I love the Buddscreeks, theyre not thee best in any particular thing but the are the best everywhere and wear like iron, as for your suspension maybe try running a stiffer spring front and rear and go way out on ur comp clickers, it gives a softer feel in the slower stuff but still works great in the open
