Thanks to the govt shutdown, I just had to ride for work. We had no signal coming from the Microwave up on Frazier Mtn. Normally I would go the Ranger Station and ask for the key for the closed gate and drive up. But the office was closed. So rather than drop $3k into a helo ride, I decided to try a different solution. I haven't ridden this trail in well over 20 years but it paid off. A few downed trees made it interesting.
For this ride I chose the trusty and nimble WR250. It was a great choice as I had to drag it under a fallen tree that had blocked the trail on the side of the mountain. It was about 30 miles round trip of mostly nice tight and moist single track goodness. I can't believe I haven't ridden this for so long. Anyway I made it to the site and got the system back up. I grabbed a couple of pics, called family and work to let them know I made it, and rode back the way I came. Will certainly return and bring friends to share the joy. Forgot that everything gets turned landscape so turn yer head.
Do you actually ride with your Spot tracker attached to your brace like that? I would think it would really interfere with your helmet.
It seems to work fine for me. It's a Leatt Fusion 3.0 so it's a solid connection. However, I do want to get the better mount Caselli foundation sells to try a different spot.
See you need to Thank President Trump for setting it up so you got paid to go ride your Husky Lucky you
