Got a few minutes to check out my newly arrived PC5 and Autotune. I got the PC5 installed and running. Kit is super complete, even has alcohol wipe to clean the surface for stick on velcro and zip ties. Very professional box and kit. Installation instructions were very good but missing the middle page. oops. Luckily a quick web search and PDF all is good. Connectors are very nice and wire bundle is well wrapped and protected. Box on the bat install was EZ. Injector install EZ. then I took the plug back off the injector. Why? Well the next step should have come first and is the hardest part of the install. You have to finesse 2 rather large plugs between the tank and airbox. Very hard to do. Once you have it crammed (uh, er, I mean placed gently) into position then you need to somehow connect it to the TPS on the side of the throttle body. Again, not EZ. None of this is Dynojets fault, the sockets need to be that size. My suggestion to them will be to make the loom two part so you can feed the TPS connection up from the bottom and plug it back into the loom. Even in there instructions the side tank bolt is missing. I took mine out and was prying on the tank some before i saw this and had to laugh. Anyway... that out of the way you then wire tap in to the crank position wires, clearly explained and has nice included wire taps to do this. EZ. Then all that is left to do is unplug the Exhaust bung. Slap the bodywork and seat back one and lets see what happens. Twist the key, wait for the system to cycle as usual, smack the button and she roars (in its whisper voice :>) to life. Immediately obvious it is more happy as it has a much smoother idle. Let it idle for a few minutes while it warms up. It is raining, I have other things to get to and darkness is coming. Rip it around the block a few times. Don't know if I am imagining it or not but seems a lot more snappy and pulls hard. Coming tot a stop it idles down a lot more comfortably and does not make me feel like I need to blip the throttle so it does not do the lean stall thing at stops like it can at times. So, kit is very nice, install is very good other than the mentioned wiring through tight areas thing, seems to idle way better, runs very good and seems to have gained power. Might have time for a real ride tomorrow. Instructions say this setup is for a completely stock bike. There are other maps you can download and load in. Have not connected the PC to play with all that stuff. Will report on that later. Next up Autotune. I think I will wait and just ride it without auto tune for a bit. Might install my mufflers before I do the auto tune thing. I'm guessing there is going to be a good jump in power with the PC5 and autotune with the free flowing mufflers. Interesting. Nice kit Mount the PC5 Connect the injector wires (then unplug them to get the TPS wire down through there) Sorry, no more pix as the rest you cant really see anyway. Will ride report when i get a chance to put a few miles on it.
Motosportz, you're killing me. I'm trying to leave "good enough" alone, but you keep tempting me with these PC5 and exhaust posts. It really is taking all I have to keep from pulling out my credit card and going nuts.
Was my intention to leave it completely stock as well as I like the motor stock. I did want to address the slight stumble and lean running at some point but thats all I was going to do. Then I got an order for some parts including some TR650 parts. Happen to notice the customer was a Dynojet high ranking employee and tossed out a industry trade deal (happens all the time in the industry) so the trade deal was on. The mufflers I had left over from when I was distributing them so this all kinda just fell together. It is one of the perks of being in the industry and makes the long hours and little pay a little more bearable. Still a labor of love but with a dying MC industry it is getting harder and harder to find the love.
got a short ride in last night, runs fantastic. Will report with some more miles under my belt. so far Runs about as good as I could imagine, zero issues, more power, way better idle and response.
Perfect, thnx! I will hit up MSS and Revzilla again to see when their distributors will have them in stock. The last I heard from them was 05/13/2013 (last Monday).
Yeah. Chris at DynoJet told me they were shipping direct since before 04/09/2013 but everyone else (MSS, RZ, etc.) said their distributor (Parts unlimited) was not going to stock them until sometime after 05/13/2013.
I'm not in the industry so you would know much better than me regarding how that all works. I'm just waiting on DynoJets dealers to get them so that I can save some $$$ vs. buying direct.
Got ya, makes sense. It seems to work really good. Flawless so far. I have not even hooked up the PC to it to see the tables or what it is doing.
The PC V, Autotune and Leo Vince pipe turned my 630 into a raging machine........ stock it would barely pull 6th gear
Cool...thank you for update and I can't wait to see/hear that new exhaust setup once you have an oportuntity to work on it
Hey, conversed with my contact at Dynojet, none of Dynojet's major distributors have ordered any even though they are available. As such they have set me up as a dealer and I can get you very good prices. Or if you would rather go direct and can get you that info as well. Let me know, product is sitting on the self waiting for you.
I need to ask if I can do that. Sometimes there are distribution agreements keeping dealers from doing that. If I can it will be about $40 shipping for the reliable trackable methods.
Hey K...you happen to know if the A/T O2 & factory O2 share the same thread size/pitch? Would be nice to be able to use the factory bung instead of having to weld in a new one!
