PCV or TXC 250 ECU for 2011 TE310?

I have the 2011 TE310 with a JD Jetting powersurge and of course the powerup kit. Other than a Uni Filter and a 12pt injector it's stock.

So is the TXC 250 ECU better than the Powercommander V on my bike?

Also, will this eliminate the JD Jetting tuner?

Don't know if it makes any difference but I ride above 5,000'

    Thanks

I don't know if its still available but the race ecu for the txc310 made a big difference on my bike.

What year bike do you have and what year was the ECU from? Thanks

The JD and the PCV may be similar in use as they run on top of your ECU, so I would not assume you may gain anything. The PCV would allow you to simply load a pre-created map, or make your own with Autotune or manually tweak, like the JD. The PCV, I believe gives more more incremental control, but both otherwise the same. I would think a sea level map fine at 5k feet. I made 2 maps using the pcv for my bike and the high elevation map I did at 6500 and above. The latter is just incrementally leaner at low revs.

Ok Johnrg, I'm old enough to know that I don't know better!! After 15 years away from bikes and my last one being a 95 YZ I have much too learn. From what I can gather from your post the JD and PCV both are fuel management systems? You mentioned them as running on top of the ECU. Does the ECU also perform ignition duties as well? The reason I asked is that many post mention that doing the power up and the 12 pt injectors makes significant gains in power. Another poster had the JD and did the power up/injectors with a JD Tuner but it wasn't until he added the TXC ECU that it really came alive which leads me to believe it must be doing something more than just fuel management?

Yes... Forgot about timing... The TXC may have a map with different ignition timing and if so may indeed be the difference. Since probably your bike and mine have no ignition control with jd or pcv, the ecu could make a difference if the factory maps had different timing.

Ok, I just came back from a short 20 mile ride. Tried dialing in the low (cracked throttle) and it seems when I lean it, it coughs a bit. Richen up a bit and it sounds like a wet plug then cleans up after revving. The other rider that did the same mods I did had a 10Pt injector had similar issues. He's the one that said the TXCs ECU was the kicker. My guess is that the PCVs specific map tuning might get me closer than the JD Tuner. I really appreciate your feedback. Im going to try and locate a TXC ECU unless I get some other pertinent info.

BTW, I'm pretty sure your ECU can be flashed. Mine can't but from 2013 your in luck if you want to go that route. It's only $50.

If I can't find a proper ECU I think I would get the PCV/Autotune as well. I was at Ty's in December and he recommended the PCV with their map. I took a look at the Powercommander site and saw there are many map options to choose from. You run map 3. What injector is on your 13 TE310 ?

Stock. It works so nobody changes them on the 13/14s.

Found this info about the ECU in the kit joedirt mentioned. It's from an Aussie site. It confirms that ignition is part of this ECUs functions.

    Genuine Husqvarna
The performance upgrade kit consists of a high volume fuel injector fitted with a 12 port pintle for enhanced fuel atomization compared with the standard 4 port unit supplied as original equipment. In addition to this, the kit includes an upgraded ECU offering revised fuel injection mapping and electronic ignition profiles to maximize performance and throttle response.
Utilizing technology thoroughly tested and developed throughout Husqvarna’s victorious WEC (World Enduro Championship) 2011 season, the race proven ECU mapping will deliver enhanced throttle response across the entire rev range plus a stronger power delivery to further enhance the performance.

Thanks joedirt, seems it's quite a popular item. I called them and they have been on backorder for a while with no idea when they will get them.

Since my last post I have tuned the Powersurge to the 12pt injector and it's much better with the updated setting but still needs some fine tuning and I'm sure the ECU when avaiable. One rider with the 10pt injector reduced his JD fuel setting to 1 and reduced his Acceleration Pump and felt it was better. I did that and it coughed when quickly snapping the throttle and was still rich in the Acceleration. Below are my before and after settings starting with JD's recommended settings for the 4pt injector and next, mine with the 12pt injector. I still have not finalized the Full Throttle settings due to an injury but hope to post my findings soon.

From what I can gather there are 2 PCVs offered for the 08-11 250/310 and 450/510 models. One, #23-001 is fuel only the other, #23-009 is fuel and ignition. Since ordering the TXC ECU is an uncertainty the #23-009 is my best option since it allows for some revision of the boring stock ECU.

Dynojet could not modify the ignition timing on the 13/14 bikes so they installed a prior fuel only unit and why 13/14 TE users should have Map 3 flashed to their ECUs. If the factory had improved timing then you would benefit. In any case Map 3 provides the best base and one can just run either of 2 maps I made with success. I know nothing about part numbers.
