Jake and I braved the snow for 22 miles of fun. Was OK. Went to adjust my air screw and found my carb encased in ice. OK, it runs fine as is braaaap Nothing like a foot of snow on snotted up glass. Fun... http://jmetteer.smugmug.com/Motorcy...-MONT/20186598_gZLCmk#1594881736_hNndFq8-L-LB
Yep we do what we can, we also made some modifications for aerodynamics... And Kelly forgot to post the picture of him up on the pegs and trucking... Kelly says peace to all those at CH... We also had some other untended modifications that I forgot to take pictures of... foot pegs that needed ice skates. It was interesting trying to stand on the pegs when most of the peg was covered in a 3/4" high ball of ice. One time I had to chip it off with a screwdriver. Later,
Yeah, standing could be dicey. You never knew if you were going to stand on an ice ejecto ramp. I shifted to first several times when stomping the ice out of the pegs.
It's well into Nov so snow is to be expected ... I always liked the summer rides when the snow was melted at the lower altitudes and we rode up to the snow line as far as possible...then return next week to see how much snow had melted in the last 7 days...
Nice! Snow in Eastern Washington too. This was at Horn Rapids ORV park yesterday....they scraped the track and it was in great shape!
I never stand up...except to look ahead and say "oh $%@!" Much easier to go over the bars if you are standing up.
It is also much easier to go over the bars if you use the front brake... You should probably remove it just in case. Proper body position is everything, that is a big thing Shane Watts beats into his students in his classes. I sit a lot, too much really. But the biggest thing I think is do what makes you comfortable... Later,
That looks like one of those fine, ICE T KA's! Last time I ran in snow, I hit a snow drift and went over the bars. One of of the softest landings, though!
