Before I sell my SM610 (carb) and pursue the 690, because I need more top end power, is there anyway I can get the 610 to have a little (just more okay :) ) bit more "pep" up top? Right now, flat out it will do 160kph and while that is fast enough for the road, its not enough for my local race track and would like to at least to 175kph. Also we sometimes ride into a rather strong south easter and that drop my speed down to about 150kph.

I run 15/45 and hit about 162 @ 8000 rpm. 16/45 does not see me pull more than about 155kph in top and 14/45 hits 155@ 8200.

I realize, that I may be using the wrong tool for the job, but its just so much fun overtaking super bikes on the outside.

I have a stock decatted pipe. Bike runs good and will come up off the throttle in 3rd with little effort.

You reach 162 with 15/45 @ 8000 rpm. You can gain power, but your limiter action will still intervene @ 8250 rpm. So you would get no more than (162*8250/8000)kmph=167kmph. You can:
-gain power and replace the secondary drive ratio,
-use an ECU without rev limiter.
I know a chap who has a carb 610 with 15/45, TC 570 camshaft, older 610 ECU without rev limiter, lightened flywheel (thanks to the kick starter in lieu of the electric one) and QD muffler. He said that he reached 178 and that maybe it wasn't the top speed yet. I don't know whether it's true or not, but his bike was for sure faster than my OEM 610 I.E..
Unfortunately, I quarreled with that guy and so I can't ask him further information about his modifications.
