I've dreamed about a kx500af for years and finally have the chance to own one so I'm snatching it up this weekend! I'll mainly ride ice with it but can use for about anything if equipped right. I've got a lectron, FWW, and maybe a auto clutch, would like a revloc since rekluse doesn't make one but heard revlocs are getting hard to find. There was one other one but sounds like it had no manual (clutch lever) over ride.. Not sure yet. Pretty excited to see what its got!
Sounds awesome. I still haven't scratched my KX 500 itch. Some day. That third clutch option is the EFM auto clutch. Good setup, but that style Kawi clutch can't have any manual override with the EFM design.
I did have a 570 husaberg that I did hare scrambles with pushing 58-60 HP now that and this 500 are not even close to apples to apples but I think if I set this 500 up right it should be a handful but fun! Curious to see what it gets for mileage with lectron?
Not a service Honda bike! Built by a builder down south. Service Honda has "AF" trademarked from what I understand so they'll let you know if you advertise it as an AF I guess...
Road a CR500 on the ice with Canadian tires oh it. Over the top fun ! Full hilt boogie-WOT and hold the F on I gotta get me one of them just for that !!
This all started with me trying to find a straight up kx500 for the ice but a real nice one was a grand less than I'm getting this other one for so of course I found the sliver of justification to "upgrade" lol! Around my parts we call Canadian screws cheaters haha they're like riding on Velcro!
Very cool. I have had an older 500 in my shop for awhile, working through some issues for a friend. Looking forward to your RR.
check out this video of Sean Collier on a KX500 at the FMF 2-stroke Challenge in Mammoth View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jpFKRwv_Tw No Contest. He smokes everyone n the uphill. Don't believe he lost a race in the 2-stroke category. Not the fastest times overall but morning times were way gaster than afternoon.
That guy must be made of rail road spikes and tornados in order to have enough strength to hang on to that thing and go that fast!
One for sale here in Aus too. Shame it isn't registerable over here for road use http://belmont-nsw.australialisted....e-in-kxf-250-frame-honda-cr-500_17848639.html
