How about some opinions on the Pirelli MT60? I'm thinking of a tire swap this spring. Decent road tire? Decent dirt road tire? Thanks!

I had a set on my KTM 625 (gasp!) before I got my SM 610. They work really well on the road and on dirt roads too. The front is pretty wide, so the only problem I encountered on the dirt roads was that the front would push in the corners if going too fast. The rear hooks up really well on dirt roads.

They are really soft, so they wear pretty quickly and they cost a lot. So, for the little amount of dirt road riding I do, I bought Continental SM tires. They work great on the street and do okay on dirt roads.

But, if you don't mind spending the $ and you're gonna ride quite a few dirt roads, the MT60s are pretty good.

    Hope that helps.

I've used the MT60's on my SM610 and I concur with all of the above:thumbsup:

I think the MT60's really shine on wet pavement. They do well on hardpack but if it rains when you're in the middle of a dirtride you're in trouble:lol: They tend to pack up and get incredibly slidey...

Wow WoodsChick (or MudChick in this case)!!! I know you ride your SM610 offroad a lot, but that is some real muck to ride in.

Also, you must have some serious skillz because I notice even in all that slippery, wattery mud, your handguards are both still clean.

    :end treadjack.
