Here are the pix from the ride with the vids i posted a few days ago. this is hands down my favorite ride area and we had epic conditions for the day. Bro Mike had a brand spanking new KTM200. Quick story, Mike had a deposit on a 09 WR125 husky, found out mine had issues and bought a 08 KTM250F... and hated it. Sold it with 2 rides on it and bought the KTM200. He got the KTM because he is an electrician and does a dealership and gets killer deals on the KTM's otherwise he would be on the WR125. he loves the 200 which I figured he would. Anyway super fun day. One happy guy REAL happy Yummy We rode to a bridge we knew was out. Passable but the trail has trees down as it has not been cleared for the year on the far side... Snow drifts keeping us from doing big loops still up high... See, we can play together...
dude where is the motor on thing???? I just see a big bulging x chamber...and enough space to park a smart car.......that machine is amazing and very cool.
I know...I always think the same thing when I look at the 125's. That bike intrigues me for some reason...too bad it's a red sticker bike here in CA WoodsChick
How'd the 125 do against the 200 Pumpkin? If I ever went back to the Orange kool aid, It'd probably be a 200.
Same here, they're a total blast to ride I'd be interested in a head-to-head comparison also. I've ridden a few 200's (and a few GG 200's too) and enjoyed each and every one of them. WoodsChick
The mighty 125 does just fine against the 200. Obviously less power especially down low but the 125 climbs like a billy goat and rips like a banshee on top so it will git-r-dun. That 125 is pretty darn fast when you keep it on the boil. In tighter stuff I would not say it is at much if any disadvantage. Love that 125.
Oh yeah! I forgot about the KDX's! I guess I've ridden more 200's than I thought...although I must say the KDX is an entirely different animal than the other 200's mentioned. I rode a brand new one years ago...remember when they were white?...and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven WoodsChick
For me a Husky 125 can and does run with the open class NO PROBLEM so i guest it also will run with the little 200 Now we can say it does both during the day and also at night since we just won the desert night race also beating the open class PLUS at half the cost of a orange bike
I had a green 86, but two years later I bought all white 88 plastic for it (as seen in a photo in some post around here....I believe the one about "what bike did you cherish" or something like that.) Then I think there was a water cooled model later that there was a white version of.
Yep, it had to have been `88 or `89...can't rightly recall. So, do ya think we've hijacked this thread enough yet? DBCooperChick
No, but I'll stop now before I'm banished for turning it into a big K thread completely. (and it was an 88. 89 was the first year of the watercooled E model) And now back to our regularly hijacked subject.
On the flat and down hill it feels like the best mountain bike you could imagine. You know, one with 50mm forks and 12 inches of travel and the most amazing brakes you have ever tried.
