Great info here. Tinken / Zipty have these bikes sorted and understood down to the last bolt. I went with their ECU map3 (wonderful), suspension mods (great), Earth-x bat, gas cap (works perfect), and vent hose. All great well thought out products that make my bike better.

    Seat concepts seat is awesome.

(shameless plug coming) my Motosportz damper and rotor guards are also nice additions.

Had a great time on mine this weekend. Headed out to the dez with a buddy with a KTM 350. After riding my bike he said "that motor sets new standards for big controllable power" Said he had never ridden a bike with so much power that is so EZ to use. Made his 350 feel very soft power wise as it should being 120cc more.

Can't tell from the pictures, how did you run your vent hose?

Just modded my license plate holder area and rear turn signals via some Shorter TR650 stalks. Kinda tightens things up a bit but keeps some of the factory styling. pictures already have the new stalks installed. Plate Holder.JPG Palte Holder 2.JPG DSCF2118.JPG DSCF2119.JPG

This is a 511 mod thread. You will want to re-post this mod in the 650 forum. :naughty::D

When he puts the 511 stalks on the TR, then he needs to post over in Terra/Strada land. Under the CH official percent of content rules (right here in my pocket  ) Im going to let this 511 modification using 650 parts stay here !! :oldman:

    No worries Tinken.
Thanks O Sage. I don't think I'm gonna put thos long stalks on my TR. I'd be whacking mirrors off of oncoming cars.

Thankfully we aren't required to have turn signals in NC so I just pulled all of mine off along with the tag bracket. I'll just mount my tag to the small black fender extension and be done with it.

I have the '11 model TE in Oz with the multi-piece rear guard, we are required to run all lights.
I pulled off the REALLY big 'for Australian market' ducktail/numberplate bracket, stripped the guard apart & mounted my original indicators up in under the rear guard.
(Not sure you could do this mod with the 2 piece guard, but worth a look)
The RH one is just out of the stream of exhaust gasses exiting the Akro so it doesn't get melted.

I have stepped off heaps of times in the bush & they have never hit the ground.

Mine has 3000km (108hrs) of hard bush riding on it, supplied Akro slip-on installed, jumper plug fitted, map updates, TPS resets someone else's ECU fitted & countless hours in the dealer & my shed fidling.

I'm STILL waiting for it to 'run fine'!

Next step is to give in with trying to fix the original hardware & fit a piggy-back ecu.

I love  the bike to ride, but it gets to me every time I take it out in the bush with stalling/flame-outs.:banghead:

    Hey Dangermouse449
I see you have QLD plates and I noticed you have removed the number plate light, and the plate is being lit up by the tail light only. Have you had problems with the cops? I had considered doing the same thing but borked as I wasn't sure of the law. I'm running the full set up at the moment and haven't had any trouble, it just looks shit.

No trouble yet, but we only ride on the road a short distance to get to the forest. I don't ride it to work or anything and sometimes up to Rainbow Beach.
Usually tow it to our favorite spot then unload & go from there.
I don't run mirrors etc either, they'll only get broken.
We have been pulled up for a rego check in the forest, they were happy that we all had rego & licences, some had no indicators, one had no taillamp, they didn't seem worried, just we had rego if there was a collision i guess.
It would depend on the cop at the time....

Much better, yea I don't bother with the mirrors either. Do use the indicators tho, I broke one couple of weeks ago stuffing around on the local mx track.
I noticed on hear some fella from Vic had some indicators that click on and off think I'll look into those.
Cheers for the reply I think I'll give the plate mod a go.

Here's the link to their website. They look like a great idea. http://www.clicknride.com.au/
I've also used Hella truck clearance lamp LEDs as indicators, screwed onto the side of my old WR450 rear guard. They were pretty tough.
Not strictly legal, but it is an indicator that flashes.....

That's not a bad idea actually I have 2 spares of those in the shed. But i think I'll go with the click on, thanks for the link! Gunna grab those now while I'm thinking about it. Cheers.
