Bad News: It seems to have passed. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/26/science/earth/26land.html?ref=us Representative Mary Bono Mack, Republican of California, the state with the largest chunk of newly protected land — 700,000 acres — called the legislation “incredibly important.” Recall the representative from Palm Springs....
I saw a map awhile ago, and it did seem to impact a few riding areas, more like riding trails, rather than 'areas' Including a couple 'transit' trails thru 'wilderness' that connected riding areas. Wish i could find the map. Anyone have a link?

Wow, that's quite the network of trails. We have areas to ride that may be larger but nothing is charted. It's a free for all and people (mostly quads with mud bogger tires) tend to get outta hand and mess things up in a big way. By the time things get "official" here in canada the eco-nazi's will have a stranglehold on the areas and reduce them to a pittance. I understand losing areas is bad but better to give a little now rather than be ravished bigtime in the future. Sadly, land restrictions are inevitable.
