Me and my bud Ken got out last Saturday in the 90+ degree temps for some sweet mountain riding in the Casdade Mountains of SW WA state. Not a bad day. Except for the heat stroke! http://www.vimeo.com/5944830
Sweet area to ride Man, all these 300 posts are killing me. Rob N, you ready to order our 3 hundies from Paul yet? We can probably get some smoking deals on some 09 300 coming up. Anybody know what new incentives BMW is gonna have, if any, coming up? I thought someone posted that on another thread a while back. Hey PC, that motor just sounds soo electric. Smooth down low and then gets on the pipe rather quickly. Are you working the clutch a lot to get her spooled up or is that just throttle to get things going? Rob, perfect bike for Tecate HS in December. whadda ya say? Mitch.
Been there rode that. will be again in a few days in mid 70 degree weather. Wooohoo. Did you find the dead goat in blue lake?
Nope. I rarely, if ever, touch the clutch on the WR. It'll lug down to nuthin and still light it up with a twist of the wrist. Lovin that bike
Love the video. I really enjoy trails like that. Reminds me of some of the stuff I rode years ago in N. Idaho. Also reminds me of the stuff where my feeling wouldn't be hurt if I was rode a WR300 instead of my TE510
I traded my TXC450 for a 09 WR125 to ride that area on and am loving it. My friends thought I was nuts but a few rides proved it would work fine up there. Hell even with the 125 i rarely ever am WFO. At the top of Hamilton Butte where he shot the vid from...
I know you weren't nuts. Fully aware of how nice a 125-300 2 stroke can be when set-up for trails. Spent a few years riding high country single track on geared down 2-strokes and we have a nice KDX200, but kid rarely lets me ride it except for short tuning runs. Mid July on the Idaho Trail Machine Assoc State Ride, some 250/300 2 stroke riding buddies kept teasing me, saying how they thought I might need a few more cc's for the tight nasty stuff we were going thru.
I still think he's nuts for doing it and have yet to see him ride it!?!? Classic mid-life crisis...old man buys a 125 to feel young again. I'm just jealous! I am starting to feel like my TE 450 is a bit much for the tight stuff or in really technical areas...hmmmm.
I cant get over how clean your bike pulls ....especially down low...I thought what was really cool... was the steep sided trail at the beginning...on such an angle the trees coming out of the ground at 90 deg..then straight up...also pretty narrow in some places ...I wouldnt want screw up riding that.... you guys have the ultimate geography....not just for riding....but for nature nuts too... Its not surprising that the Sasquatch is rumored to lurk in those forests.... but I'm embarrassed to admit.... I almost woofed my cookies when you climbed up on that rock....OMG thanks Brandon
MS, My current siteeation requires that I continue my love affair with the 450 for a while longer, I could always shake a KTM300 ride from one of the crew!!! I need another THS trophy and hope the TXC does it !!
I love the fisheye effect on that cam. It makes angles WAY more impressive than they truly are. I'm not saying that wasn't steep, but it wasn't as bad as the camera would lead you to believe. Now if I could only find a cam that would add 10mph
Video makes us all look slower and the hills look flatter...you're just being modest as I have been to that same lookout. I was puckered walking over to it as well! David
I guess I'll be spending more money !!! my go pro hero has got many cracks and battle scars...from branches and roost on the other hand....that Vholdr HD is mighty impressive....I have to say
