I have never ridden this hill its in NSW but watching it make me laugh http://youtu.be/_rLcT_tkNRM Kel Oh there's a guy on a Husky didn't crash but stopped
Mate that hill is not only really steep the loose shale and boulders kill any momentum and cause massive deflections.
One of the annual trail rides here in Oz includes a nasty hill known as Pork Chop Hill. Would any of you TE riders have a go at this if you had a chance? 150 riders tried and 5 made it up! I wouldn't mind having a lash, but not on the TE I'm afraid! Courtesy of AdvRider, apologies if you can't access it as you may need to be a member. Love the treatment no. 152 Suzuki receives - dragged back down the hill, rider not giving a s**t, saying that's why he doesn't buy a new bike! Gives a new perspective to buying second-hand... http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=714224 If you can't access this, there are earlier years on Youtube - just search Pork Chop Hill.
Hey mate, I see you have a hammer head gear lever on your 630. Do you know the model number or where I can get one, I need one real quick. Joe 0487878725
Interesting! I'll move this over to the main forum so others can enjoy it, in addition to the 610/630 people. 610/630 -> General (Main)
eh... now I get it. 2 people made 2 threads about pork chop hill.. I merged them so people could share their thoughts in one place.
Looks tough. The way guys are being bounced around on those rocks makes me think it's worth doing a suspension tweak at the bottom of the hill to plush up the compression damping front and rear... dial the damping right out and hope that helps minimise deflection and keep traction. That, and a Rekluse. The one guy that makes it quite far up clearly has good clutch control... right up to the point where the bike loops out on him Oh, and of course being a good rider would always be a bonus. DOH! That's where I would come unstuck
Sorry Coffee, I didn't realise a similar post had been made on the Main forum. I posted on the 610/630 forum because I was interested in whether those types of riders would attempt such a hill on that style of bike. No dramas, and thanks for a terrific site! Regards, Russ
I can't keep up I would not expect anyone else to ether It's all good. I left a 1 month re-direct to this thread, so the 610/630 people will probably follow the link if they are interested. And I would imagine most will.
That is a pretty steep hill, but you should have a look at this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gqlu6CZLbiI&feature=related or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLQLkoa8Tw0&feature=related or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27GeOOcSS0E Now this is real hardcore enduro.
