    Husqvarna Motorcycle:
Very proud owner of an 83 430WR !
Complete overhaul on 83 430 WR. Powder coating the cases. Satin, semi, or gloss?

What do you guys suggest? I'm thinking satin.

    Thanks!!

Satin. They will shine up a bit after you have cleaned it and sprayed Duck Oil all over it.

I thought satin was a bit flat or dull, so I usually go with semi and after a while it looses a bit of its shine and I think it looks just like factory stuff after some wear and tear.

on paint i will agree could also agree with that but powder coat stays better and does tend to look shinier than paint so i went with satin.

My son was in the powder coat business, what they call matt is actually 80% gloss (appears a close Husky match), gloss black is 95% gloss, and the high gloss is called piano black

The hardest to match and it has a unknown tuff original finish is what is on are Huskies. Please take a look at pic brand new case set. It really has more shine than satin but not
as glossly as today gloss finishes. Case still has part # sticker residue on right case.

The minute it has some aging or any use it seems to be satin or even more flat. These were just taken out of plastic storage bag and just wiped with damp cloth to remove
dust. No part number on replacement cases.

Most of the colors on the old Husqvarnas is unknown.
    Why?
Well, they just mixed something that looked good and then painted that on a plate and had that plate as an reference.
So Husky red is, well Husky red like that plate overthere.
