No Power Commander 5 for a 2014 FE 250?! Seriously wtf? I can get one for a 2014 FE 350 but not a 250. Any options out there? Can a PC5 for a 2014 FE 350 be modified to work on a FE 250?
I know JD had the Power Surge but I'm already set up for and like the PC5. Had it on an '09 TE 310. Great system.
Come on, somebody has tried this...

As the electrics and layout of the bike is the same a 350 one will probably plug straight in and work. All a PCV needs on this bike is the connector for the fuel injector (male and female) which is likely the same on both bikes. A connection to the TPS which probably is a tap in a wire and a negative to the frame or battery and maybe a power supply. No need to explain you can't use a 350 map but need to make your own.
On the superduke forum we used a KTM ADV1190 PCV on the 1290 superdukes before they released the proper one for that model. It was all the same except for the length of some of the wires and ran fine.
Most KTM and KTM build bikes use pretty much the same stuff like electrical connectors, switches and heaps more.
So yes, very good chance it plugs straight in.Only issue might be the software in the PCV, if the RPM for the 250 is much higher than the 350 the tables will run out before getting to max.
You can always have a chat to Dynojet, I found them very helpful every time I asked them something.
There is also a system to modify the maps in the ECU. The dealer can load different maps like the EU map and the KTM user setting tool is another (if still available). I also heard some places can edit the maps in the ecu direct.

I did call Dynojet. All they could tell me was,"never got that particular model in and tested".
    So I came here.

Edit: I had been corresponding with Tinken, here in the Cafe. He was going to modify a PC5 for a 350 to work for me. I think something happened over at ZipTy and now there is no response from him. ZipTy says they don't know how to do this mod.

I'm not real sure I want to spend money on a PC5 to experiment with... I'm not that good at electronics.

Can someone post a pic of a 2014 FE 350 TPS plug? Thx.

I could be wrong but I think he may not be with ZipTy anymore. Unless I'm imagining this he put something up on Cafe Husky a while ago.

Bearing in mind I'm on the other side of the Pacific Ocean. He seemed to be the go to guy there going from what is posted here at Cafe Husky. No idea what ZipTy looks like with him gone??

"Tinken" or "Mike" hasn't been working with "ZipTy Racing" for about 4 months or longer. You can still contact him here on "Café Husky".
