I know the PV gets super black from the oil. I read a little about cleaning it here. But what's the best cleaner to use? What's the process? Will I need to take a bunch of stuff off under the cover?
    Thanks.

I have a 00 WR - I cleaned the powervalve with carburettor cleaner aerosol. I didn't disassemble it - just removed the covers (Front, LH & RH) and cleaned it until it was moving freely when disconnected from the drive ( under the LH cover). I haven't gotten my head around the setting instructions in the user manual yet so maybe I should have done a more thorough job. - (Have changed my premix ratio to 50:1 per instructions from Husky Importer).

Best cleaner...long straight road and give it stick all up to 6th gear :)

There's a front? I guess I'll see it when I take the pipe off.
Does cleaning it up really help? Is it going to make a difference in power delivery? Or is cleaning it more of a maintenance job? When I did the top end last year I didn't do any real cleaning while I had it open.
