Rd 3 of the AMA National Series and Rd 3 of the ECEA Series. Back to the sun and sand; another great NJ day, almost like being at the beach.

The stakes were a little higher this weekend with the event being our first go at the AMA series. We did not make Rd 1 in GA and Rd 2 got canceled with the TN GNCC.

In the morning 'C' race there was 117 racers with 12 on the 200 C line. This time we were not the only Husky; a 4 stroke was in one of the senior lines. Being a national, 2 hours was the race time for the C event.

ECEA has a different take on a 'Holeshot'...A set of poles with a banner at least a 1/2 mile; and many turns, after the start. Andy got off the line first and held the lead to the poles, earning him the class holeshot award.

There were two classes started in front of him, each with a minute offset.

He actually rode past the time differential to physically be in second place. Andy finished 1 minute and 7 seconds behind an Open C rider on a KTM 350 4 stroke. After you subtract the 1 minute offset; 7 seconds out of the overall. He wanted it bad and pushed hard the entire race...just not to be this time.

Out of character for me, but I actually questioned the last lap time of the leader, but did not take it any further, really nothing to gain. Check it for yourself. And it's entirely possible it's correct...not unheard of.

He raced with one local rider that is smoking fast in the sand. A girl named Shawn...I mean impressive. She finished 2nd in class and 3rd OA, Hats off!

The hybrid CW125R ran well in the sand...couple of short clips from the open sandpit area of the 9 mile course. He busted the FMF TC2 silencer welds, running the stock stinger. Sounds a little different and runs pretty good with the stocker.

For the day... Holeshot award, 1st in class, and 2nd overall, he's trying his best to keep the 'H' out front!

Open the results for Tri-county, select '200 C' class or 'overall C' and select to view by lap times.

If you're reading, you're writing...drop him a line on the way thru!
It goes a long way in keeping him motivated knowing you're out there!

After a sand race...not a whole lot of cleanup...

Nice! He needs a helmet cam so we can get closer to the action.[IMG]

That looks like a fun place to race.
