Hey everyone, i just got my Husky! Finally after a loooong wait to have shipping to my country its here, this is my first 2-Stroke so im open to all advice, but my biggest concern is what is th preferred ratio for premix, i was thinking of running it 4oz per gallon for break-in and then bring it down to 2.5oz per gallon? any input?

I ran mine with 32:1 for break in and now I run 50:1. I have been using Dumondetech synthetic premix.

40:1 for me. WR300 2010, 150 hours and never have a single problem. Compression still perfect. I will change the ring/piston this winter by prevention.. Always run Motul 800 factory @ 40:1.

Every 2 stroke l rode new or fresh rebuild l've run 33:1 just to make sure that all fresh parts are well lubricated then go to my standard mix of 40:1 or 50:1 on the next refill - any synthetic premix is good just make sure you don't mix castor based premix with other premixes.
Very important to have your carb well setup as a faltering carb (running too rich) will foul plugs regardless what premix ration you have - don't fall for the trap of a fouling bike, maybe l change the premix ratio to 50:1 will cure it.

PS 1996 WR360, 1 x full rebuild and about 4 top end rebuilds running at 40:1 with a looming cylinder replate since new.

I suggest 40:1 Maxima K2 or Super M. I have been running K2 most of this year and the top end is still good after a year of use. K2 was especially developed for Team Suzuki and Roger DeCoster. Not only protects well (Dick Leichien says it will lube good even at 100:1) but burns very very clean and smells good. They say it will even measure a slight increase in HP on a dyno over other oils. Super M is a good oil, fairly clean burning mixed 32:1 to 40:1.

    Bel Ray H1R 50:1. Its great premix and it comes in a nifty little 12.8oz bottle. 1 bottle + 5gal gas = 50: I haven't used a ratio rite in a long time...its a wonderful thing.

I know a lot of people get by on 50:1 mix but my personal results over the years show that if you mix at 40:1 the engine life is at least 50% more.

I always run 40:1 in my Husky WR250 and KTM200. A little drool out of the tail pipe is ok with me. Extra lube in motor is a good thing. Remember that jetting is the key to performance.
