Hi all I just received my sms 630 2011, check gasoline controlled gasoline pump , spark plug ... nothing engine does not run , the dealer has just informed me that the mechanic for this type of bike and on vacation ... does anyone know if there is something to be removed from the injection or else?? Thanks for the help
Need more information, does the starter turn over??? do the lights and dashboard work???? or is everything dead????
Not a stupid question at all. That little red button on my 610 took me by surprise on my way home from the dealer. I thought "Crap! My new bike's a piece of dog crap!" but, of course, it was the best thing since sliced bread as soon as I figured it out. 11,000+ miles later she's still going strong
Haha, thought the same thing... but it sounds like he's cranking and not firing... OP, check the fuses under the seat if this is the case. Do you smell a strong fuel smell from the exhaust when you try to crank it?
ok guys the bike is new 0 km was never turned on, the dealer does not believe has even removed from the crete when it came from the factory, when I turn the keys the light position work and also the light of the neutral, no smell strange, is matbe security system to remove with softwere? I tried to connect a hose to the faucet of gasoline and blow while trying to turn on the engine ... the air dont pass, normal??? Or only works with gasoline ?
You should be hearing the fuel pump in the tank for about 3 seconds or so when you turn the key on. If you hear that, the next thing i would do is unbolt the fuel tank and lift the back end a couple inches. This gives you room to pull the fuel line off. Prop the back side of the tank up with a something so you have both hands free. pinch the clip on the fuel line that goes from your fuel tank to carburator (throttle body) and pull the pull line off the fitting on the carb. now turn the key on and fuel should piss out the fuel line when the fuel pump cycles (have a container ready). This will take about 10min and now you know for sure thay u have fuel right at the fuel injector. Then i would pull the spark plug and ground the threads to engine case (make sure the power lead in on the plug) and crank the motor. You should see the spark plug sparking away. That's it. Now you have covered the basics. Fuel and spark. Keep in mind that some bikes will not start on old fuel. keep in mind that 630's are hard starting until you do the power up modification. Also keep in mind that 630's run like crap at low idle when the auto decompression is clicking away. And dont forget to pull the cold start lever while you have the clutch pulled and your cranking.
Just to mention that fuel should only flow when the pump primes with ignition on.Only with the engine running or cranking will it pump continuosly.
