    Hi people.

First of all, excuse me for my bad english, I'm spanish.

I have a problem with my TE450 '08. Every day, before I ride with my moto, I fill it of fuel. When I was riding, in a moment, the moto turn off, it's like the moto haven't fuel. I go to a petrol station, and I only can fill 5 liters of fuel.

Yesterday, I open the moto when turn off, and I can take off 2 more liters in the tank.

My question is : Why, if I have 2 liters in the tank, the moto turn off?

I repite: Excuse me for my VERY bad english.

    Many regards.

"Did the fuel pump mod today and took some pictures.

    Here you go...

With the tank upside down, take out the six screws holding the fuel pump on. Gently pull the fuel pump assembly out.

Here you can see that the pickup has slipped. It pretty much pops right out with the factory zip tie.

Here it is back in place. There is a certain way it needs to align to slide all the way in.

Second zip tie installed, nice and secure now.

    Reinstall the fuel pump.

Someone had asked about a fuel filter somewhere, it's on the inside and is replaceable."

It appears that only slipped about 1/4". How can that equate to 2 liters of fuel left in the tank?

This guy on Thumpertalk said he cleaned the commutator on the pump and it has started reliably...50 times. This goes along with the general advice to check all the connections as it could be a switch on the bars or who knows?

"The problem, in my case, certainly was the (pump)motor. Tapping on the side of the pump causes it to start. Openned it up and looked like dirty commutor. Clean with scrup pad; starts every time (appx 50 restarts). Still looking to buy a new pump motor Monday.

I think mine slide up again yesterday. It started shutting down at every stop, but the low fuel light wasn't on, but after about 5 stalls it finally came on during one of the stalls, then went back off. So, I'm pretty sure that's what it is, since it's the third time.

Funny thing is, once it sees low fuel pressure it shuts down and won't even bump start until you push the starter button again. It will just die down until the rear wheel finally starts to slide.

 Isn't that interesting Do you have to turn the key on/off or just punch the e start?
Have you tried it while still coasting (hit the e-start)?

Yeah, it will start while coasting if I push the starter button, but will not come back on it's own. I don't this a bunch of times now, though it's not really a control experiment, but that seems to be the way it works.
