HR posted this on TT. Looks like a nice start. Looks compact. Almost looks smaller than a 630. http://www.mcnews.com.au/NewsArchives/2011/June/Husky_900_3.htm
Hmmm, hard to tell in its spy mode, I hope it turns out like the sketches posted a little while back! The forks looked kinda raked out. And I think I see an abs ring on the rear hub. I've never ridden a bike with abs but I'm not so sure I'd like it.. Front wheel/brakes look cool
riding position looks good & comfortable. good ole HVA right side drive & beefy looking swing-arm.. Obviously a street bike only with the mid pipe running under the frame... I like it.
I love how the designers are so far into that "naked" look. We were going for that so hard in the late 70s early 80s and it was tough to get there with big ole KZ1000s and such. (gotta dig up a foto of my stripped down 79 KZ1000 mk2 with Japanese aftermarket seat/tail,rearsets, etc and a 82 KZ1000 J front end and swingarm on her)
Hoping the stealth fighter angular look doesn't stick, otherwise it does look like a fun little scoot!
i like em nekkid...here's one of my (MANY) canyon burners...GSX-R shock, i redid the fork, billet end mirrors, pilot powers, etc etc...railed in the REAL canyons. not so much on the hiway...talk about buffetting. i enjoyed a long love affair with nekkid bikes in so cal canyons. too many squids killed that off by attracting too many 50.
keepin it husky...nothing could touch the 510 in the real twisty's...nothing...CHP stoped chasing this one, it was futile. note lack of plate...i trucked this one to the canyons. then it was on. baaarooop!
miss this lil critter...had 3 of these things! check the billet fixed rear-sets...this thing rrrripped for a 650...you could use it all. we was wise enough to run quiet pipes too...you could drag a knee and the po-po ld never know. only squids run loud pipes on public roads.
OHHH FOOOOK ME, I think they nailed it ! If only they’ll come with available accessories like a fairing and luggage, I’m all over it like white on rice... Mental note; start saving for a down payment, start saving for a down payment, start saving for a down payment....done
Gnarly was the first word I thought when I saw the first pic... Next word was short (in length) ... Must be Ti pipes on it ... they'll just start bluing from the turn in the middle back to the heads? That's gonna look really cool .... No engine cradle? Whats holding the engine in the frame? WR: That front spoiler may be the new ticket
awesome. i upgraded to those subruban machinery bars as well. they werent cheap but they were spec made for the SV and were way better than that cheap down bar i had. i had a ton of canyon burners from 2t twins to 750's. the SV was the best of them all. super flickable inline v-twin, super forgiving, perfect power and doable on the super slab to and from cu what it gave up in the corners to the SMR it made up for on the hiway. got 35-40 mpg eveywhere too and you could not blow it up i know some guys with over 75k on them! i wish i never sold that bike. damnit!
Oh yeah, well i had the single sided swingarmed V-twin forefather of the SV and it's big bother so there.
this is really good. i remember riding my 06 510 SMR in the canyons and it drew a lot of attention- ooo look a husky. seems there's a lot of canyon critters here and there and now that the 900 is coming with and edgy less dirt bike look i bet itll apeal to more rider and who knows we might see more hoosk's in the twistys!
