Hi, I bought my Terra with 600 miles on it in showroom condition. I noticed a slight pulsing of the front brake when I first rode it but it was not severe. It has progressively gotten worse, now at nearly 3000 miles I believe, it is pretty bad. The pulsing is visible when appling the front brake, you can look down the fork tubes and watch the caliper moving. Actually you can see a slight movement in the caliper without applying the brake, a slight wobble. Has anyone else experienced this? Im wondering if the warranty will cover a warped rotor? 3000 miles is certianly premature failure especially that it was detectable with 600 miles and has progressively gotten worse. I did call my local BMW dealer and they warned me that Husqvarna may give some resistance to covering it under warranty because it is a "off-road vehicle" which yes I have been off road but nothing I have done in riding the machine has caused the failure. Thoughts?
you can do nothing wrong by contacting them about the problem. if its under warranty and there maybe a health and safety issue, surely that's enough to argue about!
We'll...no luck with the dealership. Looks like I'll be searching around for an aftermarket front rotor. The oem rotor is $280! Anyone have any recommendations or ideas of rotors that are interchangeable with the Tr650?
This Amazon site says it does not fit a Terra. Can you confirm this? The Terra rotor also has a six hole mounting face.
When I did a search with Google. JCmotors list the MD834 fitting the Terra and Strada. When you do a search of the part number it shows it fits the 650 BMW's. I am just going off the searches and I have not tried to fit one.
Because poor Engrish in listing.lol, but seriously. It's hard to say what the quality is of those; and coming from China would make a warranty or return difficult if problems with fit or performance arose. EBC is far more reputable and brakes are especially important on a motorcycle. EBC-makes parts for aircraft Chinese CNC- makes...stuff? Also, there is a disclaimer in the listing that items are subject to import taxes. I'm not sure how much the taxes could be but nonetheless it is an added cost to the listed $135ish.
Did you replace the pads at the same time? Recommended especially with having a previously faulty rotor.
Yes I ordered the ebc FA209/2HH pads, still waiting for those to arrive. I was going to mil down the original pads but for -$40 I just opted to replace them. I might still re-surface the original ones to keep as spares.
